Baldness/ receeding hair runs in my family. When I was younger I used to drink Horsetail tea when I started to notice the recession.Apparently it's good for the hair, skin and nails. You can buy it at health food stores, and it tastes like crap :)

If baldness does rear it's ugly head here's a few swoonworthy hairstyles the dashing gent about town can adopt, cheers, Tony :)

Well Minoxidil used topically has been a money maker. Its sold as Rogaine, regain and other brands. Ashley and Martin plus heaps of other companies are out there to take your money....but if it is in its infancy, they may have some solution/s. (any hair you lost over 6 years ago..is dead, according to the litrature).

Apparently something called DHT (wont even try to spell it out) is believed to be the cause and some herbs like Saw Palmetto can help stop the build up of this chemical.

DHT is also meant to be connected to prostate problems too....hence bald men are seen as being more susceptable to this problem (as the popular medical "opinions" apply but who knows).

Laser "combs" have become a fad lately and there may be something in it as many "hair loss" salons used to use neon helium lasers to "bathe" the scalp (dont know if they still do) but "portable" models have been in marketed in the last few years, but they seem to use crappy lcd "lasers".

For a really good overview of all options , down load the book "hair loss no more"....dont have link though. It covers most of the popular "solutions" plus excercises and a nutrition guide. Fairly recent , what I remember, about 2003-5.

From there its up to you.

Doesnt matter really when WW3 and national service comes in....;).

as a woman i have no problem with bald men and the best thing for them to to is to get a very short haircut and just be confident. alternatively shave it all off, many women dig this like though i prefer a little bit of hair, but i would say that a very high number of women like the completely shaved look. DO NOT do a combover or compensate for the lack of hair on top with a ponytail or too long hair. these are the men that give balding men a bad name.

Like the comedy the baldy man classic. Weird how men don't find bald women attractive. I think some women like the bald look on a man because it reminds them of babys.

I love this forum it is one of the wonderful things in my life, soundthief you are hairlarious.....................

now firstly to answer your question, they say fresh coriander is a herb that encourages hair growth......
don't know if that's true, never seen it, but if it is i imagine you would have to eat a fair bit, consistently over a period of time to see obvious changes.

2nd......what about all the people that love bald men, there are so many woman out there that love bald men, did you know that bald men have a high testosterone count. They are highly sexual. and whence sitting around the kitchen table listening to the wives and woman talk, in the afternoon with a cupa tea and a scone, amongst cackling and hordes of laughter (not that i eavesdrop or have flappy ears) but they say that bald men are the best lovers..................mmmmm very interesting. I vote go for the bald thing.

Yes, it's true. The balding generally is a direct result of the overproduction of testosterone :). But there are other factors. Wearing baseball caps during hot summers, washing your hair in hot water, obesity... But why would you care? You should worry more about what's in your head and not what's on it :). Most of the women in the world care more about what's in your head and your wallet, if that's what you are really concerned... :D

PS. Excessive stress is also linked to balding, so don't stress out over it. It's a vicious circle.;)

i started going bald about two years ago.

a few months ago i believe i began to understand how to regrow it, so i have been trying this treatment for the past few months, and it seems to be working, it's slow (just as our bodies are) but it seems to be working, but i guess only time will tell. when i have significant regrow i'll post sum pics. but just remember guys u aren't ur hair- if u can't afford the treatments availible now, shave ur head-make urself look hard mutha and u'll still look cool :-)!

what's m state? So it's not an urban myth about wearing a hat damn I wear one in doors in winter no central heating, thought that's why my hair was getting thin, grows thicker in summer. I need to move to some where warm.

this isn't really a "natural" solution but if you like your hair more than you like your balls, i would suggest cutting them off. eunuchs never go bald. bit of a shit choice though really.

That will only work if you do it before puberty. Once testosterone is in the system, it's too late. You can't reverse baldness with the snip.

eunuchs never go bald.
Testosterone is a factor in "male pattern baldness", yes, but there are other forms of baldness that have nothing to do with testosterone.

It was rare for eunuchs to go bald because most male baldness is pattern baldness and most eunuchs were castrated before puberty - but the claim that eunuchs never went bald is false. That crap article that you have seen copied and pasted around multiple quack remedy sites is, aptly enough, "bollocks". :)

Why do you want to "combat" baldness? Media made you think it's a negative thing that needs to be "fixed"? It's not a defect.

Men are supposed to go bald.

im going bald..........only bad thing is the cost of hats in the winter and forgetting to sunscreen the bugger in the summer.........ive heard that a natural product called SAW PALMETTO ( check spelling) can be effective in large doses,it is also very good for the prostate gland .similar chemicals are involved in pattern baldness as those that cause prostate cancer i think...........................

Its nothing wrong with going bald just shave it off. Or else you will endup with the helmet look.
I started going bald at 15 yrs .By the time I was 23 I was bald big style. At first it was devastating but then i got into the habit of shaving my head and just carried on.

Peace:)

Apparently some people used to believe that spreading cowshit on your head would regrow your hair.

Well, if it can work for certain types of mushroom, why not? ;)
