LoL....I just got a visual of that!!!

Yeah, I reckon that wouldn't have done your spine a whole lot of good!! :p

Hey thanks for the Tsarion link pumma! I'm stunned that I'd watched that clip a number of times before, yet hadn't for some reason picked up on his comments regarding the deliberate lack of sacred geometry in the shape of beds. Must have been making a cuppa tea each time that bit played huh? :D

sean~infinite, if you keep having disrupted sleep, it maybe you're lacking Melatonin, the natural sleep 'homone' normally produced by the pineal gland This is not uncommon at any age these days because of damage caused to people via fluoride poisoning, which can destroy pineal function. Do a Google, there are links where you can read about Melatonins many other benefits also, and places where you can purchase online. You'd probably only require 3mg a night to make a HUGE difference to your sleep-patterns if you are lacking this vital hormone. Much better than taking drugs as all you are doing is replacing a natural hormone in much the same way diabetics need to replace insulin.

I read in a book (don't remember the title) that problem with falling asleep often is about being out of sync with the biological clock in the body. Many people often go to bed too early, before the biological clock has started the real 'going to sleep' mode, and then that makes it difficult to fall asleep.

Some years ago, I had a brief period where I had difficulty falling asleep, but I could fix that by not thinking that I HAD to fall asleep. It's a very unpleasant state to be tired and still not being able to fall asleep. My advice is: stay up all night instead of going to bed. The biological clock will eventually fall into its natural rhythm. It's when the thinking mind tries to control the sleep according to the tic toc world of "social correctness" that the sleep rhythm is disturbed.

7 hours is "insufficient sleep"?

Exactly my point, Stikmata!

If you go to bed at five and wake up mid day, then im sorry to burst your bubble, but thats not really insomnia. Thats just you having shifted your sleeping pattern, thats all. As an insomniac, you'd be lucky if you slept that in a week. I used to sleep about 4 hrs a week on average. So I wouldnt worry to much about your "insomnia", just dont go to sleep at five and stay awake til next night, by then you'll hopefully be tired enough to sleep at a better time. Just reset your sleeping pattern.

Good luck!

I don't stick to a sleeping regime. I just sleep when I'm tired.

Then again i don't have a job or any responsibilities to tend to. :D
