Does anyone believe that the power of suggestion is enough to make people succumb to illnesses?

In connection to this, I've been wondering if it would be feasible (if lack of funds weren't a deterrent) to bring a court case against the Uk government for instigating the nasty images on cigarette & tobacco packets.

I personally do believe in the possibility of this. However I think you would be laughed out of court faster than you can say emphysema.
