Hi folks,

Already Gordon Brown is saying -:

Mr Brown told Andrew Marr on BBC1's Sunday AM it was "clear that we are dealing, in general terms, with people who are associated with al-Qaeda."

It's obvious that we have a group of people - not just in this country, but round the world - who're prepared at any time to inflict what they want to be maximum damage on civilians, irrespective of who the religion of these people who are killed or maimed are to be," he said."

BUT , look what Strathclyde Police chief constable Willie Rae has to say today from Scotland on Sunday.

Although Rae made it clear the incident was linked to London, Strathclyde sources said their early belief was that it had some of the hallmarks of a maverick copycat attack rather than a determined, co-ordinated assault by al-Qaeda

What weak and wooly thinking of brown to boldy assert involvement of Al Qaeda, when the cheif constable has not stated any such case.

Cheers!

Two incidents of cars containing petrol and gas and one of a pair of idiots who set fire to their car at an airport, but the media talk of it as "an organized terror attack by Al-Qaida" as if it's proven fact. What if it's the Mob? What if it's just some fool holiday-makers, in a rush to catch their plane, who acidentally set fire to their car. We don't know; the two survivors are ill in hospital... But when it comes to media hysteria, we don't need to know. Facts are an unecessary frill! However it gets worse! The headline in yesterdays Sun was "BRITAIN UNDER ATTACK!" and told the story of how passengers and staff at Glasgow airport tackled the "terrorists". It uses that unequivocal word.

I can suggest an experiment... but I wouldn't recomend trying it!: Put a load of gas cylinders and some cans of petrol in your car and park it in a public place; that's all. What do you think the odds are that you will get arrested and the tomorrow the newspapers will read: "Another Al-Qaida bomb attack foiled. An evil operative of this sinister network tried to kill innocent people today..." accompanied by your police mugshot, probably heavily-tinted to give you a Arab appearance!
