SUPERSTAR ROBBIE WILLIAMS has found himself an unlikely buddy - 80s TV fruitcake DAVID ICKE.

The pair have been hanging out in LA swapping tales about their shared obsession with ALIENS.

Icke, 55, famously ridiculed on TERRY WOGAN’s telly chat show after claiming he was the son of God, met Robbie in the States.

The former BBC sports presenter is in California trying to whip up interest in his crackpot theories about reptiles secretly ruling the world.

A source said: “David happened to be in a restaurant at the same time as Robbie. Rob recognised him and introduced himself.

“They had a good laugh together and have been meeting up since.

“It’s an odd acquaintance, to say the least.”

Robbie, 33, has admitted he is fascinated by aliens - and gave his 2006 Close Encounters tour a UFO theme.

The singer has also admitted he regularly dreams of being abducted by extra-terrestrials.

Icke, who was fond of turquoise tracksuits in his hey-day, believes world leaders including GEORGE BUSH, HILLARY CLINTON and TONY BLAIR are disguised reptiles from a star constellation called Draco.

He has written 20 books on his wild claims, goes on international lecture tours and gets millions of hits on his website.

He plans a seven-hour talk on his insights in Brixton, South London, in May.

Better late than never. Jon Ronson had an interview with Robbie in the Guardian a year ago about his UFO activities and friendship with David Icke. Some other paper (think it was the Mail) "exposed" Robbie's membership of ATS (even gave away a couple of his usernames) a couple of weeks ago too.

Robbie's great in my book and I really like his music and listen to it often. I think if you don't like it you should try some of his less media played tracks and see if you like those. You might, you might not but don't dismiss his music on what has been played on radio frequently (though personally I like those too).
