I experienced ego death about 26 years ago while on LSD. that ego death was temporary however. the "me" that I had come to know and defend had essentially "died" as I entered a realm of......I can't define it. for over three hours of linear clock time I was discarnate....aware....but terrified.

during that LSD trip I was seeking the "comfort" of the known as I everything I knew was shattered. I thought I was dead, caught in the paradox of wanting to TRULY die to take away the unbearable dissolution of all that I knew. this terror eventually gave way to ecstacy!!! HURRAH!!!!!!!!

indeed there is. and I'm not advocating the use of LSD either. it was a humbling experience to be sure. the after effects lingered for days as I came back to earth. I haven't experienced anything remotely close to that one particular trip ever again.

Biotech will in a near future allow us to live very long lifespans. That's what I'm counting on. It's even possible that changing the belief about aging will allow us to live longer and become healthier.

I want to live several hundreds years to start with. :D But only if I could remain healthy and feel good.

One problem is that there would be too many people on this planet if we could live very long lifespans. Theoretically Earth could probably harbour many more people than we are today, BUT we would all (at least most people I guess) want to live in the most attractive areas, and those are limited.

To solve this problem we can make contact with advanced ET civilizations who have the technology to create new habitable planets for us, like: "Zap! There's a new planet fer ya created just like that in a fraction of a second." :cool::D

It's important to understand death. Even if I will be able to live very long, the question of death needs to be examined. I want to know where I'm going when I die.

The first step however is to reverse aging. Growing old just sucks, especially since we up til now have had very short lifespans. A few years of 'prime' (which isn't prime at all but rather non-superhuman) and then a steady degeneration of the body until death usually before the age of 90.

Yeah, that could be true but that doesn't make the material world an illusion. I believe we are experiencing a very heavy and dense material level at the moment.

It feels like I'm trapped within an eggshell and need to break out of it somehow. I suspect our whole planet is trapped inside a kind of eggshell at the moment, and the pressure is building up!

Money is a big part of the pressure we experience. We need to break out of our slavery to money somehow. :mad: Money is good as a tool for business, but money is still way, way too heavy and oppressive in general.

The idea about death is spooky but the idea of living forever is also very spooky. Somehow the subconscious fear about life and death has to be brought to conscious awareness and be transmuted. That is deep stuff so it's probably wise to be careful and go slowly about this.

On one level we are limited bodies and at the same time consciousness is connected to everything and possibly even the projector for everything. The physical and the spiritual have to be integrated, for they are both part of the same movement of life.

Before going to bed once I had a panic attack and convinced myself I was about to die, very frightening, there is all sorts of things go through your mind, i wonder if purgatory is a part of dying and not the afterlife? anyway the fear of death kept the panic attack going for some time i could hardly breath, was sweating and my heart racing, if you have never been so sure of your death as to be convinced then facing death is a scary thing, however eventually i just put my life in the hands of God and stopped worrying about something i could not effect either way, finding peace i closed my eyes and dropped off to sleep praying.

I faced it already. I was thinking about it, and by actualy realising it i had a strange few weeks where nothing seemed real and i used to get panic attacks and stuff.

But i beat the panic attacks. Death is a natural thing and I dont think its the end. Everything just seems so pointless if it is and everything in the universe has a purpose.. so life also must have a purpose.

Brilliant, and that's the point - what sort of life is it when you are hemmed in by fear - face death and get past your fears - then you start living, really living :-)

Seems like most people are already dead to me. I have a neighbour who gets up for work at 5.30am every morning and gets home at 8pm commuting to London. She spends Saturday washing clothes and making meals for the following week which she freezes and on sunday she goes for a walk and pub lunch. Is that living - if not is it death?

It's very hard, and it hurts. I try to ease the pain but its too big, it's always there dragging me down. I try phoning the rapists for quick relief but it doesn't help.
