Here's something ive been thinking about lately and i'd be interested to hear what you think....
what do you think is the most important thing for each of us to attain in this lifetime we are experiencing now.....
is it to have children...(go forth and multiply as the bible says ) which is what we are encouraged to do in society and always have been i suppose....
or is it more important for us to re discover ourselves and re connect with all that is and break free from the illusion in which we are manipulated to accept as reality.............................
I know you could say both in an ideal world...but in our reality one is heavily supressed whilst the other is greatly encouraged.... by the powers that be???

Hello callybhoy i think the answer depends on how you see this world. Is it an illusion we are all trying to escape from kept here by our wants and desires or is it a beautiful place to learn and grow.

I think both are important things. If you look at it from a standpoint that this is all just an illusion inside of a matrix, than it really doesn't matter...you can love, kill, drink, eat......ect.....without any consequence because this all is fake anyways, right?
Or, from the standpoint of christianity, and most other religions, you can live your life under a moral code while fortifying ethical behavior in ones you love and interact with, thus creating a unique, loving society and world.
I just don't buy the matrix bit and never will...I don't believe we are all one because we are all different.

Sorry about that James, and moderators,
But sometimes you get that feeling that you are banging your head against a brick wall.
It can be very frustrating
No offence meant.

I know things have been a bit tense round here lately,
but some of you are now starting to beat each other up
pretty bad. :(
Some of you don't seem to be very happy at all, so do you
think maybe being a little bit kinder to each other during
your dicusssions might lift the mood round here a bit? :o
Just my thoughts.

Interesting question, my standard approach is to do the opposite of what the PTB preach because 9 times out of 10 this approach is a lot closer to the truth, however being a parent has it's own rewards, (although sometimes small and fleeting:D) and the love of and for one of your own (so to speak) in it's true essence is pretty much up there on very cool experiences.
But trying to awaken & discover the truth takes a lot of time (and a lot of quiet, something kids are not usually akin to), and being a parent, providing a home & security for ya little ones takes even more time & effort. The stress that a modern parent lives under these days is unreal (by design of course)
I suppose it's a personal question, but trying to be a parent in this current reality takes a heap of love, determination and down right strength, I take my hat off to anyone who is raising kids and trying to break free of the shackles that imprison us. I propose a toast to all the parents who are raising there kids in this strange world, doing the best that they can and are trying to awake & escape as well...*charges glass*..good on yas:D

Amen. :D You are talking about the Bible I guess. The Bible could have some profound information but it does not contain all knowledge in the world.
And remember, your children are not YOUR children.

I cannot see planning to becoming a parent anything but an act of pure selfishness on the part of the parents. I cannot justify the inflicting of life and suffering on others when I have the choice not to.

It could be a selfish act, but hardly always. A non-selfish act is equally dysfunctional. Each act needs to be for the good of BOTH oneself AND others. I have heard, I don't know if it's true, that some couples who have a problematic relationship say: "Let's have a baby. Maybe that will save our relationship". That is clearly not a good start.
We can own a house or a car, but not a child. We can be responsible for the child, but a child is ultimately not a possession.
