Listening to particularly annoying "prophets" today (in particular the obnoxious Steven Deagle), I decided it would be incredibly easy to make up a false prophecy about the upcoming "end of the world."
First, don't get me wrong, I think some things are probably going to happen because of all the energy that's been stirred up in the human imagination. I think these things do tend to happen cyclically, and 2012 is supposed to be the end of a major cycle. We'll see if anything happens but I feel like something might. And I think people can have legitimate dreams that pertain to the future.
However.
There are a lot of fraudulent assholes running around the world right now making money off of complete bullshit. You can't always tell who is lying, but sometimes you can tell. I won't name names (not anymore, anyway) because I am always willing to allow for the fact that I may be wrong, but by observing the behavior of the person explaining the prophecy as they do so - particularly during interviews - you can tell they are lying by the way that they control themselves during the conversation. Those who constantly interrupt and treat the interviewer as not important are usually lying. I guess that's beside the point. Remember, this is fake.

OMG I HAD A HORRIBLE NIGHTMARE LAST NIGHT!
I remember I was staring at the moon, and suddenly a glint came off of the side. I stared at it for a moment and then I was somewhere else. The moon was blood red and it was daytime, but the sky was also red. I remember feeling extreme horror, and I wasn't sure what was going on. I was in a major city, it could have been Los Angeles or New York, and I smelled burning flesh. I looked around and there were bodies everywhere. Suddenly people started running toward me trampling over each other. They looked emaciated and poisoned, and then in the distance I saw a glint in the sky similar to the one I saw at the beginning of the dream. These people ran right through me and I stared up at the glint as it came closer and closer, and I realized it was a bomb.

Blah blah blah you get the point. Anyone with even a remote sense of dishonesty could lie and make that sound real. ESPECIALLY if they are going to get attention and money from this lie, or be viewed as a "visionary."
Another way I can tell who is full of shit is by listening to them take the credit for their accurate predictions. This is great because most of their predictions they ADMIT are based on insider info! I guess I'm referring here to some of the people I hear on Alex Jones' show all the time.
So the point of this post is, I think we are all far too gullible when it comes to believing most of these people who claim to have visions. Some of them are telling the truth, of that there is no doubt. But all of these apocalypse salesmen? I smell something fishy.
EDIT: Yes, I know the plans of the population controllers. Just because the plans are in place does not guarantee success. I don't think things are going as planned or else we could have expected World War III to kick off on 8/8/8.
