I sometimes have stange thing happen to me at night. I am lieing in Bed paralyzed. I can barely Move and barely make any vocal noises. There is always a dark figure standing just out of the corner of my eye. This feels extremely real. It does not feel like it is a dream. When it ends it somehow feels like i'm leaving a meditative/other dimensional state more so than Im waking up from a dream. I am always puzzled after it happens. Not sure if it was a dream, if it was real, or what had just happend to me. Like I said it feels 100% real but i do experience some form of Consiouness shift as the expereince passes which is why I'm always never sure if it was a dream.

I did some research on this because it was realy freaking me out bad. Apparently this phenomenon happens to alot of people. The Medical Community calls in Sleep Paralysis and try to say it is nothing paranormal. Certain parts of the brain are awake whiles others are asleep. My opinion on this is what does this prove though? Perhaps when this happens in allows you to tune into another dimension so to speak.

throughout history, People used to refer to this experience as being visited by the "Old Hag"

Anyoen else ever have this happen to them?

Yes. It used to happen to me all of the time as a child. Then when I was a teenager everything excluding the shadow still occured. It now seemed like someone else was present in the room, at the foot of my bed in smoke form. No shit, whatever it was looked like a cloud of swirling smoke in the air and this isn't possible given the conidions of my room. I would lie there and try and figure out how to move and wake my body up as a teenager. It eventually went away.

my ex girlfriend used to complain of the exact same thing when sleeping alone. She would not be able to move at all and had the sense that something was in the room making it happen. The feeling and paralysis had broken when i entered the room once. She says that this never happens if we were sleeping together.

I can't remember if she mentioned seeing a shadowy figure but defintely felt like there was a presence.

She attributes to it having a nightmare and her body still being in sleep mode even though she is consciously awake.

I've never experienced anything like this on my own in the same apartments so i cannot make any conclusions or judgements.

I can say that she was very frightened by it and traumatised to the point she didnt want to be on her own while sleeping at night.

The girlfriend i had before this suffered exactly the same stuff but she took it even further claiming she could also see and communicate with ghosts.

With that i just don't know what to believe. i certainly dont think she is lying.

This has happened many times to me but I have not expereienced this for a awhile now.

Usually there is a dark figure. Sometimes it would just be strong sense of an unseen force. One time, the ghostly figure was at the corner of my bed and touched my foot, which I felt physically. Strangely, I can always tell whether the being is female or Male.

I remember when this first happened I used to be absolutely terrified. But I after awhile I used to get pissed off when it happen and try with all my might to get up and fight the thing. lol Funny Story. One time in the middle of the night, my brother came to wake me for something. All that I saw was a dark figure standing by my bed. I sprang out of bed and attacked him b/c I thought it was that damn ghost. Hahaha

I have had this alot. I actually had it last night...I was simply stuck and trying with all my effort to speak 'yhvh' as loud as I could to ward off the spirits...I felt as though I was being crushed..Although this time it was being crushed by pressure from society, I felt how much it was weighing me down.

I've had it in the past where I try with all my effort I can summon and I literally get up out of my body and see the whole astral plane which is very interesting...

If you get it and don't want it, don't resist it, that's when you get the paranoia. Just wait for it to pass...If you prey then you can see some very interesting things.

BTW, I don't think it's bad..Through my experience it's an unloading of paranoia and stress. If you want to get sleep paralysis more along with outer body experiences I have found to meditate and while doing so relax your throat, I don't know why but it seems to work not just through my own experience but through occult texts which say that the neck area is the key to the astral plane.

This happened a lot to me as a kid, less so in my teens and twenties and very rarely now in my thirties. I actually wish it would happen more now.lol

This used to happen to my mother quite often. The last time it happened, she was on the couch in her living room and even at night it is a decently lit room due to the city street lights outside. Anyways, on this occasion, the dark figure stepped before her exposing his hairy, face with 3 eyes, terrible skin and black eyeballs. The way she described this was horrifying. She said she could actual smell the scent of his vile odor as she fought to scream and move her body. The dark, cloaked figure then stretched his arm over her body and began to sprinkle some type of molecular substance that she understood to be disease and sickness. Finally when it was over, she prayed over the house and annointed every doorway with 'holy water' and pled the blood of Jesus for protection over the house and since then it has never happened again.

I have always felt a presence in the room as well, it's very strange.
I would be interested in finding out if anyone has ever had vivid flashes or visions when this paralysis occurred (end of the world type stuff). It was a long time ago, I know, but I'm sure I repeatedly had the same visions or flashes when suffering from this paralysis as a kid. These visions themselves stopped later on in life, but the paralysis continued. I always remember hearing my parents and the TV next door but never being able to get anyone's attention when it felt like I was screaming.

I used to have it happen a lot in my twenty's the first Time it was after a dream where a wizard like character told me he had power and i laughed he said you can laugh but when you wake you wont be able to move or cry out .I woke up and couldnt i wasnt laughing then lol .I had it several times after that for years and i got told that it was sleep paralysis by several learned doctors of mind medicicne :D By the way chris do you have any links to the occult texts which say that the neck area is the key to the astral plane. would be very interseted to read them ive just had something cut out of my neck a while back now so would be good to see if theres a link there.

This happened to me earlier this year, it was quite bad. It's never happened before or since that time.

I wrote what happened to me on this thread:-

http://www.davidicke.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3527

It appears to be quite a common experience by all accounts.

You may want to do some study on 'Da Pineal Gland' and to gain insight on why you cannot experience this anymore. There is also a thread somewhere on here about the pineal gland...check page 5 of 'general'

James ,Ive posted on this before,
I beleive it to be a medical/psysiological condition,
The brain and the body are not always in synchronisation with each other.
Ive worked at a hospital
And with, "specail needs " persons
It would be very tragic if we wrote these people off
because there pineal glands were filled with chlorine,
If you listen very carefully to stroke victims and specail needs people
They know exactly what is going on ,
They are not very good at communicating thou'
hence the frustration they feel,
you just have to learn to listen a bit better

I've never advocating 'writing anybody off'. I'm just leading someone to some information they may not understand yet.

This has only happened to me once and very briefly. I believe it occurs because one awakes while still in a different state of awareness (heightened), perhaps from being out of ones body during sleep. What I believe is happening is that for a brief period of time, one is experiencing a trans-dimensional reality (maybe lower-4th/astral), and seeing those whom dwell there....possibly the energy siphoners/feeders who prey off our spiritual energy in 3D reality.

Michael Tsarion calls these entities "Macrobes", Sturart Wilde refers to them as "Ghouls" (and other names), and David Icke calls them reptilian entities. They are likely all of these things and more, and they are likely all around us at all times, but because we are not normally turned into their frequency range, we cannot sense their presense.

From the brief sleep paralysis experience I had, and other experiences where I have briefly 'turned in' to other frequency bands (or they have turned into ours), the best way to protect yourself and quickly return to normalcy,
is to not be tempted to be frightened or alarmed at all (this is the effect they desire), but instead focus your mind on thinking really heart-felt loving throughts directly at the 'entities'.....send them as much love as you can muster, and they entire scene quickly dissipates.

Whatever/whoever these sleep-paralysis-prowlers are, they simply cannot stand the resonance of love, so they skiddaddle VERY fast back to whence they came.

Superb post and XLNT advice, nice one LL, I had a bit of experience of this, firstly back in my twenties, when doing a lot of astral projection research. Then after a period of nothing like this for 15 years, I had several experiences of sleep paralysis, the weekend I subscribed to this forum. the first one had just the shadowy figure, the second, it was definitely my ex, and thirdly, once I had done the love thing suggested by LL, once I rose out of it, I puked all over my ex in my own little dimension ;)

Thanks for starting this thread.

I've had 'encounters' of this sort my whole life.....since I can remember I've been chased on the astrals by a dark being, who would often be standing next to my bed watching me when I awoke......once I awoke to a demonic face looking down at me with a menacing smile as though mocking me.......this scared the absolute crap out of me........which seemed to amuse these 'negs' and feed them to some degree........

These sorts of encounters have been prevalent my entire life, contact with these negs or persons who I feel are being influenced by them have been a constant theme.....and lately I have been able to feel them around me.....and whether someone is being influenced by them (nausous and a dark pulling) due to my sensitivity.....and you are absolutely right Limelady, love is the key.......I will not delve to much into my experiences with these beings as of yet....I will simply say that the one around me was cold, dark and wore a coat and black top hat......

....my brother and sister have had similiar experiences, my bro would wake with something holding him down, literally feeling these cold hands pushing down on him....and he was speechles, couldn't utter a single sound.....a shadowy cold being is how he described it and it happened cosistently till he sought my advice....wherein I told him that he must face this creature without fear and show it whos boss.....he did so and has not had an encounter since.......I'd love to share these stories......I might start a thread in the near future.....

Power to the peacful, the loving, the benevelont and the courageous.....

Mitchell.

i had sleep paralysis for years (thankfully not any more), but i never got the feeling that there was something in the room with me, all i'd get is a slow creeping feeling coming up my legs, slowly going higher (in this state i knew if it reached my heart i'd be dead), and i'd first try and scream, then later try and kick, this usually worked after a while, the slightest movement would end it.
i did a lot of reading on the subject, and found that many people would feel a negative presence on the room (and a small amount felt a positive presence), i never felt any of that, just fear.

Sleep paralysis is a way many people use to get out of their body and have OBEs. This book is worth reading and helps for Astral Projection.

I've had a good amount of this type of experience. It's never very pleasant.
I liked Robert Bruce's take on sleep paralysis, which was basically that when this happens, it when your projected double or "astral body" (not etheric) has been projected and the mind split occurs (this needs further explaining) but instead of being conscious of your projected double you remain aware of your etheric which is still attached to your physical body and has no access to the functions of the body because they have been shutdown to allow for the projection. I guess it could be likened to a very deep trance also?

Robert explains it better.:D

I had this happen one time, and I tried to pull out of it and my etheric (energy) body just sort of slide around kinda. It felt like I was going to leave my body. Tingling sensations in my hands and feet and deep colours at the edge of my vision and the sound of air going passed my ears, I was still half aware of my dream consciousness also which was particularly strange. When I realised this wasn't working I came up, out of nowhere, with the idea to count myself out of it like a hypnotist. 1....your waking up, 2....your are nearly awake, 3.....your are fully awake. And this seemed to work!
That story is actually much more involved than that but I couldn't be bothered at the moment to be honest. It's getting late where I am.....*yawns*:)

Love yas all.:D

I've had sleep paralysis before, but rarely if ever get it anymore. It stopped when I made sure I slept on my side and not on my back. I've never seen any entitys or anything, but was definitely paralyzed. A scary situtation. Also, I read about it all once in a book entitled Vampires which was written by a really gothic-looking fellow who went by the name of Konstantinos. If I can ever re-find that book, I may look it up again.

barbitone - Robert Bruce? Do you mean Robert Bruce Baird? He posts at another group I'm in. He's ok sometimes, but I've found he can be very narrow-minded and has no sense of humor.

No, I'm referring to the author of "Astral Dynamics". The best book I've come across on this subject, thus far.
