Any information regarding government or big business control of this industry would be appreciated.
Answers to questions like: What are the biggest companies? Who are the CEO's of these companies? How much money does each make each day off of the war? Which members of Bush's administration have or have had ties to major oil companies?
Any relevent facts and information you know would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Hi,
Here's an interesting list:
"Compiling a list of "largest oil companies" is a bit like comparing apples and oranges. The state-owned national oil companies operate differently from the traditional businesses we are accustomed to in the US. Also, should they be ranked by assets, by reserves, by production, or by revenue? These categories give similar, but by no means identical, lists. And are we talking about oil, or gas, or both, or oil equivalent? The following table offers one ranking, based mostly on information from the Oil & Gas Journal in 1999."
WORLDWIDE OIL PRODUCTION
Million barrels per year, 1998
Saudi Arabian Oil Co. - 3028
Petroleos Mexicanos - 1278
Petroleos de Venezuela - 1258
China National Petroleum - 1168
BP Amoco + Arco - 963
ExxonMobil - 894
Royal Dutch/Shell - 859
Nigerian National Oil Co. - 772
Iraq National Oil Co. - 770
Kuwait Petroleum - 757
Chevron + Texaco - 756

These are old figures perhaps, but interesting to see that the second biggest player is Petroleos Mexicanos. Could this have something to do with the opening up of the border between USA and Mexico?

Sure, I can understand it's like comparing apples and oranges. It's a complex subject and that's why it's difficult to even know where to start. Compiling the list should begin with the largest in any of those aforementioned areas. As you stated, the lists will be similar regardless of which area the statistics focus on. We're talking about oil and gasoline.
I would like to have any information on the following:
Which country each companies oil originates from.
How the "War on Terror" has effected oil prices.
Any politicians with large shares of any major oil company.
Any Tragic events such as the Exxon Mobil oil spill in 1989.
Thanks for the help.
