Hundreds of child pornography cases remain unsolved

The number of child pornography cases unsolved or unhandled by police has tripled in the last year.

THE HAGUE—Police figures show the number of unsolved cases of child pornography have more than doubled in the space of a year. At the moment, about 500 cases are under investigation compared to about 200 at the end of 2007.
The Council of Chief Commissioners says investigating child pornography takes a lot of police time. There has been a backlog for years in dealing with cases of child pornography, with too few officers available to tackle the increasing workload. Officers used to target people downloading the images, but are now concentrating on trying to catch the producers.
Arda Gerkens, Socialist Party (SP) member of the House of Representatives, is shocked at the high percentage of unsolved child pornography cases lying around at police headquarters. “We’re talking about one of the most serious crimes that we know of: Sexual violence against children. Such cases should not be neglected.”
A year and a half ago there was talk of 280 cases that weren’t being handled by the police. In contrast to police figures, a recent investigation by RTL News revealed that this number has since gone up to 900.
Gerkens is surprised at this. “First the minister said that there weren’t any unhandled cases, when in fact there were already 280. Now it looks like that number has tripled. In the meantime, according to political rhetoric, there are plans to get tough on child pornographers, but there’s almost nothing being done. This has to change.”
Gerkens wants to conduct a debate on the situation with Minister of Justice Hirsch Ballin immediately. “I want him to let me know two times a month how many cases are being handled and how many are solved. We have to get on the ball here.”

Yes,there is something odd about the fact that this is being ignored, but I know why... the PTB do not want the trail leading to them. We have to tackle this immediately for the children's sake.

i personally would love to infiltrate these pervert networks and put an end to it all..
