New Age or Armageddon?
sitting in their formica-topped kitchens
watching televisions
and living on tranquilisers.
Poisons on the land
poisons in the seas
poison in the minds
A world ruled by geriatric old men
who say : "After us the flood",
or is it the nuclear furnace,
and who cynically care less
that the Earth - our Mother - Is now dying.
"Praise the Lord " they mumble and pray
to a sterile and death-dealing god
within whom we never dwelt
and of whose being we never partook.
Having never known the cost of life
as the mothers do they easily dispense of it too.
They send the sons of the mothers to die
and they rape the daughters...
sterility and violence being a patriarchal condition.
Separatist brotherhoods banding together
against mother-produced and abundant life
watched over by the radiant Lunar Mother
who gives us visions, oracle and dreams.
We are living under the reign of left-brain terrorism
and vengeful entities created by the patriarchs
who can only fathom the most unsubtle connections.
They set out to override and straighten out
the spirals and labyrinths of psychic paths
and lunar convolutions into linear motorways
on which their intellectual tanks
can crush anything that aspires to live and dream
in this beautiful Goddess-born Universe.
Beware that the Light from Summerland,
Her magical astral Otherworld,
isn't brought forth perversely
in the blinding light of nuclear devastation
"fathered" by the priesthoods of a death-dealing Solar god
who, by now, denies he was ever born.
I say, by now, because the Ancients
clearly perceived that he, the Sun/Son,
was born anew each year
when at Midwinter the dying rays of the Sun
were seen to enter the cave and tomb/womb
dwellings of the Universal Mother .
Amongst many ancient peoples the Sun, itself
was the life-giving and benevolent Goddess
In Her golden and embracing radiance.
Never, never forget that Light is born out of Darkness...
that we ,ourselves, dwell in the protecting
and nourishing darkness of our mother's womb
before expelled into the harsh light of day...
that seeds are nourished and survive the winter
within the dark soil before the coming of the spring....
that it is in the night-time that we are given dreams
and visions and psychic intuitions...
that the Ancients re-entered the caves
and within the dark womb of the Mother of the tombs
went on shamanistic journeys into the Other-world
thereby experiencing death dismemberment and rebirth
and returning with powers of precognition, healing and mediumship
It was from women's deep dark psychic menstrual powers
that human cultures arose.
Don't also forget that the Ancients joyously celebrated the glorious Full Moon-
Mother of mind, wisdom , visions and fertility
within the Stone circles under the dark sky
and it's myriads of immortal stars.
Perhaps the patriarchs felt insignificant
in this vastness
perhaps their inflated egos
needed the obviousness of the day-sky
and it's one solitary heavenly body?
Beware that when meditating on the "Light"
we might not bring in the "New Age"
but simply a mega-death
of nuclear holocaust.
An inevitable and miserable outcome
if we continue denying the Goddess .
