Has anyone got any pictures of optical illusions? I'll start with my favourite.

Gah! Me eyes. The illusions are moving by em'selves as if my eyes are looking directly at one while the the rest moves, even I move to a different one.

Very cool!

Yes, the squares A and B are EXACTLY the same colour. The human visual system does so much pre-processing that it recognises that the cylinder is casting a “shadow”, and edits the perceived image such that you see a colour much nearer the colour that would have been there, were it not for the shadow.

Vertical and Horizontal Lines appear, though they are only an illusion.

Imagine what subliminals are in use for that ad.

http://www.chat.carleton.ca/~tcstewar/illusions/Colorcross1.jpg
"The central portions of the two crosses are the same colour. You think the one on the left is grey and the one on the right is yellow. Not true. Tear a small hole in a piece of paper to make a peephole to mask out the context. Hold it up to one image after the other, and you realise that the central portion of the right-hand image really is grey. The yellow was the illusion. What does this tell you? It tells you that something you took for granted is not true. And it should remind you that a photon doesn’t have a colour. It has a wavelength, an oscillation, a motion"

Hi All,

Another interesting topic in perception is change blindness.

Basically change blindness demonstrates just how slow we are to attend to gradual changes in our environment....got some links here which you can try out for yourself....test out how sharp we all are, hahaha:)
