`
The first lunar eclipse of 2009 takes place on February 9.
A lunar eclipse always occurs during a full Moon,
when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon,
casting its shadow on the Moon. Eclipses also come in pairs,
and this eclipse follows the solar eclipse of January 25-26.
We tend to be more emotionally expressive during a full Moon,
and this time around, that bright orb in the night sky is no exception!
Meaningful change is upon us.
This eclipse in Leo emphasizes emotional reactions, and psychic sensitivity,
spiritual instincts and emotional connectedness will all be heightened during
this period. There will be feelings of freedom as blockages melt away.
Let go of beliefs that don't correspond with your current reality and
you'll be able to see the present in a new light. You're free to redefine
your personality and your image. A new hairdo or new clothes would do
you a world of good!
A old phase ends and a new one begins. Whatever part of your life
is not in sync with your true life's purpose will be the most affected.
This is revealed by where this eclipse falls in your personal chart.
Make the most of this opportunity to look forward (as well as backward).

I heard 2 people I know talking about there must be more 2 life than this, reincarnation, 9/11 being a con and other subjects. One was 15 the other 35 years old. I have never heard them talk like this before, it was fantastic that they were beginning to question things.

In Leeds, the eclipse is exact at 14:48 Monday 9th February.
The eclipse is at 14.48 UT (GMT) everywhere.
Risings and settings are locale specific but not eclipses.

Has anybody ever experienced seeing a vivid Blue & purple "neon light" aura spinning round a full moon?
I did once last year, when I'd been doing a "drawing down the moon" (white) witchcraft ritual. I stood looking at it for about 20 minutes before being called into the house by my daughter, who could not see it.
When describing it to some friends, I found 3 other people who'd witnessed the same phenomenon at other times (2 of them together a few yrs ago & 1 decades ago) when they were (coincidentally?) drunk.
I know the significance of the colours, but other than that, I've no idea what it's about, despite trying to research it on the internet & in numerous books.
Can anybody shed any light?

I saw this once, very prominant, very wierd it apeared if as if a purpleish ring encompassed the moon, three of us saw it, three of us wondered what is was. It occured on Nov 26th 2007 in the UK - I still have the pic on my phone, although it didnt show up too good. I was sober as were the other two people. What does the colours mean?

Purple's the colour of the brow chakra - your 3rd eye, & indigo's the colour of the crown chakra.
(some books say the brow's indigo & the crown's white, but more go with the former - personally, I can't see aura's so when meditating, I always visualise the purple & indigo lights emanating from these chakras).
The opening of these chakras is associated with all things mystical & spiritual, & connecting with your higher self.
The moon's energies are female (sun's male), & are connected with sprituality, mystecism & illusion.
I enjoyed seeing this display, but would really like to know what it means.

Yep.
It took me about 3 hours to get to sleep last night.. i am knackered.
Here's another bit of *useless* information which shows the oneness of everything yet again.
I was perusing a book yesterday, published through the anthroposophical society in 1906, the basic jist of one snippet was, that we, bipeds, are oriented towards and mostly influenced by the sun, due to the fact that we walk upright, not unlike a sunflower stretching towards the sun, whereas quadropeds who move more in the horizontal are more aligned towards the moon. So far, so good.. but here's the bit that got me thinking "WOW..FUCK"
Your average adult breathes 18 times per minute
Breaths per Minute: 18
Breaths per Hour: 1080
Breaths per Day: 25290
Which just happens to coincide with the "great cycle" ie. the Precession of the Equinoxes as being 25290 years.
We're hardwired to the sun. No buts....

I was just staring at the sun, through the clouds, and I could of swore that it was moving all over the place and changing colours, there was a very strange feeling too!

But (I couldn't resist), the moon's feminine energies combine with the masculine energies it reflects to us from the sun, hence giving us a more complete & balanced energy force , in my opinion. :)

I was wrong - apologies -
there was no umbral eclipse as I stated in post no 17.
However, you are equally wrong.

I totally noticed the moon tonight when I was driving home. It was huge near the horizon and had an orange hue...it looked like a harvest moon. It
reminded me of last February. My father died the day of that solar eclipse last february. I hope that a solar eclipse does represent a new cycle or new beginning...it certainly did last year...perhaps there will be good things this year. Couldn't get any worse than last year.
Thanks for this thread...I appreciate it.

i lost my mum when i got my saturn return i was only aware of the astrological event a year or so later when someone pointed it out. i'm not saying it's because of it but it is common to have a major event coincide with the saturn return between 28-30 yrs old
Coming of Age
The first Saturn Return marks the end of youth and the beginning of the productive adult years. It is now that you truly become an adult--not at eighteen or twenty-one. You realize your need to define yourself as an individual within society and to demonstrate what you've learned.
