View Full Version : electric shock sensation in head
After reading someone else's question in another thread about something that happened in bed, although not similar it reminded me about something that happened to myself. A good while back I was in bed just drifting off when I had a strange sensation for about two or three seconds. Only way I can describe it is that it was like someone put jump leads on my head and electrocuted me. There was also a brilliant blue light which I'm sure must have come from within. Needless to say this promptly woke me up with the feeling what the f*ck was that!. I'm sure it happened again a short while after (a few weeks) but without the flash and wasn't as much of a shock (pardon the pun) :D Anyone else experianced anything similar or any idea what this might have been ?

Yep,
Nice to know it's not just me!
I've been having this happen every night for about a year. Always just before falling asleep. Like an electric BZZZZZT! for a split second somewhere between my ears. At it's worst accompanied, like you say - by a flash of light.
I've been wondering if it may have something to do with some kind of build up of EM radiation from wireless broadband etc.
(I may be talking out of my proverbial of course)
I get a constant ringing in my ears when I'm around computers as well.
I would go to the Doc's but he'll only prescribe antidepressants
Very alarming.

alright...what IS up with this? This is no joke!! Although it has diminished lately, I will experience a "bzzzZZZZZzzzzzzt". I feel it, I hear it when I'm drifting off. occasionally accompanied with a vague light. My deeper fear is that a tumor is manifesting. This is different from those msucle spasms that one can encounter while going to sleep.

Perhaps the three of us should start a support group?
BZZZTTT! SUFFERERS ALLIANCE
Perhaps we could get funding...?
Found this, it's similar but no mention of the electric feeling and seems to occur an hour so into sleep rather than the drifting off stage we have experianced.

This could be a stroke or some kind of reaction to chemicals. I would see a doctor.

Happen me last night during a pretty terrifying episode of sleep paralysis. I woke up and saw a being about 8 foot tall at the side of the bed but I was un able to get up as I felt these hands holding me down - at first I though I had a stroke and been paralysed by as it was happening I knew it was a night hag type situation as I have had these before. Then I got the electric shock/drilling sensation on the side of my head just above my left ear. I was lying fact down.
In my previous night attack many years back I felt a great sense of hatred towards me from this small monkey like thing which beat me up. This time if felt like I was being "worked on" in a very matter of fact way in the same manner a farmer might brand an animal. To be honest I actually felt better knowing it was not stroke.
I draw the being later on and put it up.

I began to experince the sensation before I ever acquired a cell phone. I use my cell phone on a very limited basis.
Only once has the sensation truly scared me, which was due to its intensity. The past couple of weeks have been free of this sensation/sound.

It's your third eye opening :-)
Some would say it's breaking through to the astral plane.
Basically there are different levels of conciousness, the one we term reality is most lucid, thoughts are structured and fixed, then there is dreaming, in the brain this is caused by the accessing of LSD always present, its a less structured state, then theres non dreaming state accessed after brain slows right down - DMT has a role in this. I'm paraphrasing here but in a nutshell, life is a dream you can observe this dream from different levels of awareness, if you start questioning the nature of reality you will start accessing different states of conciousness whilst in awareness of the change ie. normally you only access dream states when asleep so you aren't aware you have been accessing these dream states when almost asleep which is where the flash of light comes from - you are in effect jumping between dimensions of conciousness.
To develop this further look at opening your third eye. to do this you just need to meditate whilst focusing your attention between your eyes and about 3 cm back from your forhead. All the main religions teach this - Jesus did, so did mohamed, buddha, krishna etc, etc. It takes time but its worth it imo and gives you more answers than you could ever find looking on forums like this :-)

i used to get his all the time, and at the time i was taking loads of E, when i stopped taking it the bzzzzz stopped.
it is pretty scary though.
I only experience such a sensation when an ear infection is imminent and will manifest within 48-72 hours of the 'lightning strike' as I call it. A white flash and lightning bolt that runs through my head for a nanosecond. Knocks all thoughts out of mind.
I'll goto the doctor for antibiotics but they won't prescribe them as they see no infection upon examination. I will insist I have an ear infection as I received the lightning bolt pain (in my head, not my ear). I always tell them I'll return in two-three days with an ear infection. I do and they are usually impressed.
I can't blame the doctors. There are alot of hypochondriacs out there and people going to the doctor for other people who really should be seeing the doctor.

Yeah I do get these electric shock sensations from time to time, though the last one could have been a year ago or so, they don't happen often. I usually get a zap/buzz sensation from my head and I also feel the vibration. This has been happening since I was a kid.
I also have a condition where my body for no apparent reason will jolt while falling asleep, this happens maybe a few times a month.
I don't have any medical conditions (to my knowledge) and don't take any drugs legal or illegal and I don't drink much alcohol.

I'm glad theres others here had the same experience from MDMA use... I used to think I was going mad..... but it was just my body telling me to stop overdoing it!
I still take MDMA regularly, but not in the same exyteme quantitys, and always leave a few weeks recovery - this has resolved the issue.
good luck to the OP.... I wish you well.

thank you for that infinite tea!! It's been about 26 years since I've taken LSD, and I did have a couple trips that took me out of my body. however, this "bzzzzzzZZZZZZzzzzzzt" jolt was something that I never experienced whilst under the influence or coming down.

I was feeling a slight headache in the early afternoon tue Nov 2nd and laid down on my couch with (believe it or not) a David Icke lecture playing on my tv (justin.tv broadcast). I was listening to him while slumbering, with my cat curled up behind my legs, while laying on my side facing toward the back of the couch. I was not practising any sort of meditation technique at that time and was merely listening while relaxing my eyes, more or less. I may have been about to drift off to sleep when suddenly felt a rush of energy up and down my body in a nearly violent surge! I struggled to try and open my eyes but could not, however i could still very clearly see a golden bright light everywhere around me but absolutely no real detail that i could make out. I believed that I sat up and attempted to touch my face and when i did everything was completely numb and tingling. All the while i could still make out the sound of David and his lecture. I know that it didn't last for maybe more than 5-8 seconds, however i quickly became afraid that the numbness of my face was actually a stroke or that my circulation was cut off to my arms and i was some how in danger. I think it was my fear that broke the state i was in and when i opened my eyes, I was still laying in the very same position with my arms restricted in front of me toward the back of the couch. No way i could have been feeling around or have sat up at all as my cat was still curled up and sleeping behind my legs! Very strange indeed.
I was saddened by the fact that i interrupted what might have been my first real out of body type of experience so to speak as i do practice meditation. I went online and searched out, "mediation shock sensation in head" and was even more surprised to discover that this thread existed on David's site! In no way do i attribute this experience to the fact that i was listening to his lecture, but i did find this all to be very coincidental. I happy to hear that others might be sharing my experience and after a short registration delay, I felt compelled to state my case here with everyone else.
I also feel that i have been having hot and cold flashes recently. I keep a blanket around to help regulate things but it is constantly on and off lately. Hot then cold and back again all the time.
Well thats my story and this is my first post here at DavidIcke.com . Thanks for listening and sharing!

Welcome to the forum shakane :).
Thank you for sharing here, I am glad you revived this thread because I have some strange things happening when I wake up and it is good to read from others...not the buzzing shock/light sensation, but i hear a beep, like a computer beep, just as i wake up gasping for breath  I feel like i'm truly in the matrix when that happens, don't know what the deal is.
It sounds like you were having a good OBE. You're lucky to have remembered it when you came back!

Thanks for the welcome Biblegirl. :) I do hope that we can find others who are feeling this type asphyxiation and beeping. Some insight to your experience might serve to make it less concerning to some degree.
Funny but since i registered here and signed in i'm hearing a "tell tale" ticking though my sound card at login. I believe this to be indicative of key logging or monitoring of sorts. I have worked in IT for as long as computers have been around and my spider senses are telling me there are eyes on this domain ATM. I will be doing some checking with linux and other browsers to try and determine if there is an exploitative script carrier going on here. Sometimes are nearly undetectable depending on where the transmissions are being monitored.
All that aside. I had meant to mention that i've also experienced this shock like sensation about a year ago while being completely asleep during a heavy thunder storm. This experience was much more severe and i attributed it to a dream that was emulating the crashing of lightning near by. In this case I was shaken awake by the violent shock and i believed i actually cried out. Once i gathered my senses i was unable to determine if it was simply a dream or a real experience, so to speak. I almost believed that i was struck by lightning in my bed! After a short while i convinced myself that it was simply a dream that merged violently into reality to some degree. The two cases i've described here and in my previous post are definitely very different in how they played out, but the shock sensation was fairly similar as far as my memory is concerned. Once again a very strange thing.
Now i'm almost inviting the experience again so i can have a better insight to describe it with. I want to know what is causing this. I have frequent headaches and migraines, but have had them all my life. Over the last 2 years i've been having them quite regularly along with throbbing in my frontal or pineal region. Last night was a particularly severe and pulsing sensation.
I am very aware of active region 1112 on the sun lately and i' am watching it closely on SDO website. I have always attributed my headaches to extraordinarily bright and sunny days. As a child i was diagnosed with amblyopia (lazy eye) and had corrective surgery at age 5. After that procedure i have always endured these head aches and had believed they were part of my visual cortex issues. I mention this to see if there is any one else with a similar history with these shock like sensations.
Thanks for enduring my long winded explanations. We are living in troubled and secretive days. This month particularly. I'm always looking for answers. Thanks. :)

Well i checked out this site for what i was thinking could be a monitoring or key logging applet running from within or interjected through routers on route to and from this domain... and its all clean. My spider senses were wrong. The ticking sound i was hearing was simply flash media encoded transmissions on ports that were not properly closed from another sites. DavidIcke.com seems pretty clean. Sorry i was sounding small alarms. :P
Just thought i should report back to alleviate any concern i might have caused.

Thanks for the update about the forum lol.
About the migraines, I certainly get them, every month I am guaranteed to have a migraine that lasts 48-72 hours and it is the worst. It is the same with my immediate family. I am not sure why we have migraines while some people never get them at all ?? I hope your head is feeling better now. That is wild about the lightning incident too. Maybe the electricity in the air from the thunderstorm was being perceived by your body somehow. I have theories ranging from energy centers opening up in your body to EMF interference over what this business is about. I was wondering do you have the feeling of being shook awake often? Interesting stuff, thank you :).

I would just like to add my self to the list of people who have experinced this kind of thing.
I often get a white flash in my eyes with a electric feeling all over. Mainly as I am just falling to sleep. This happens quite often. I even had my plug sockets checked because I thought somthing maybe arking.
The strangest experince was one night I was a sleep and I was not aware of dreaming. A voice said, who turn turned on the light? Then the light flash occured with the electric feeling. And I woke up.
I have the exploding head syndrome a couple of times and thoguht a bomb went off it was extremly loud and powerful.
Othertimes I have woken up hearing someone really hamering on the front door got up no one there. And no one else heard it.
Often when I am falling to sleep I seem to hear voices that wake me up. This has been going on for a while and can be a little disturbing. I have learned to live with this but when this first started happening I was in fear for my sanity.
I am definatly suffering from some kind sleep disorder. Other symptoms is very vivid dreams.
The strangest vivid dream I had was being very submissive doing work for some people and trying to please them. Then I had a mushroom growing on my left elbow. Then I thought to myself I must take this into the other world. So as I was coming out of the dream seemed like i was going througth a invisible world that you can only feel. So I pulled the mushroom off my arm and put it in my mouth. As soon I woke up I told my Mum. I looked up the mushroom/fugus growng on left arm online. Found a dream dictionary and it said I need to be more assertive or somthing like that.
But the next I was thinking about the symbology of the dream. How I put the mushroom in my mouth to bring it into this world. Then when i woke telling someone was taking it out my mouth.
No way did I think thats why I did it at the time. There is obviously a higher intelligence than the concious mind working here.:)

As a small child i used to get a flash when i closed my eyes to go to sleep.
It always felt like someone was taking a photograph with a flash.
This went on for years and i kind of got used to it.
Then nothing for a few years now i get the electric shock feeling in my head.
The only explanation ive read about is when people are comming off antidepressants its a side effect.
I take Citalopram (I hate taking the crap but it helps my anxiety and ive tried to come off it a few times) but i get the zaps if im on it or trying to get off.

Strange I dont take drugs, and you didnt when you was child. Is this a recognised side effect of coming off any depressants?
Do you have any of the following symptoms? Insomnia, anxiety, vision problems, painful lymph nodes, recurring sore throat, headaches, loss of appetite, rapid weight loss or unexplained weight gain, extreme thirst, night sweats, extreme fatigue, memory loss, inability to concentrate, muscle pain, weakened immune system, allergies, heart pain/palpatations? Then you might very well have what has become known as "Microwave Syndrome"! WIFI, Cell Phones, and Cell Phone Towers may be making you sick!

Yes it is strange. I suppose im trying to make sense of it but not getting anywhere.
As i said i have looked on the net about comming off Citalopram because i just hate being on it.
Every time ive tried to come off ive had bad side effects and severe anxiety so i looked at a forum about it.
Quite a few people said about brain zaps which made me think maybe thats what i was getting....
but maybe not now you have made me think about it
They are not like the ones i had years ago ....
When i had them as a child i used to think maybe it was because i was very special,
