Many "truth seekers" become stuck within a vault of cynicism, assuming they know certain "truths" that make them more free as an individual. In reality, those assumptions hold them hostage. All that you think must be thrown out, in order to be what is real.

Excellent statement, as I said the other day so many people exchange one dogma for another and think they have gained by it when in reality the have simply stopped learning.

Heyyyy a new teacher to listen to :) I saw him in your avatar and knew he was someone special to you not just a pic of you... definitely someone special.
I agree I agreeeee....
Dogma is inherited all the time. This is related to the ego... the 'stick' the video speaks of right?
Truth-seekers will definitely inherit Dogma ... even while escaping one form of it we slip into another.
When I realized as Icke teaches us that society is built on illusion and there are intensely evil things manifesting in this world... I became totally cynical. We all go through that.
At a certain point we need to be reminded of the bigger picture. It doesn't matter what silly games are played in this physical realm... we shouldn't pull our hair out in frustration at all the evil and blindness around us... that's going down a bad path.
We should acknowledge that there are forces at work unknown to us - always observing and always rectifying the situation. Our hatred, anger, bigotry, dogma or whatever else is aroused from truth-seeking is just another layer of impurity to be washed away :)

The video clip with Mooji made me think about a new approach. Is it possible to switch between present moment awareness and mind/time awareness?
EDIT: I know! The trick is to have full desire for material things AND full desire for present moment awareness. Full force on all desires! :D:cool:

This "I know" is the greatest trickster. That "I" has caused and is causing all the suffering in the world.
Just remain as what you are, even if you don't know what that is. If you try to become something else, you will never know what you are.

How can you know that what you're talking about is true?

How can you know that what you're talking about is true?
Exactly, so the only way must be self investigation.

How do we know that mooji knows what hes talking about?
I'd say instinct.
From my perspective Mooji is careful how he words things and is careful to leave appropriate time for each message to sink in.
He is alot like Aristotle in that he poses questions and wants the listener to come to their own realization.
This leads me to believe he has genuine knowledge about the self. Only the greatest teacher encourages a student to learn for themself. Inspect themself.
If Mooji said "This is how. This is it. This is what." You could be sure he was full of it.
But like the Buddha he just makes beautiful gestures towards the right idea and trusts the viewer or listener to take the right steps.

I think that in the video in the opening post he telling us to stop trying to rationalise everything that you do. Cos if you have to rationalise in your mind everything that you do, then it means that you are trying to justify doing something that you KNOW is wrong, or you are trying to justify NOT doing something that you KNOW is right. Go with your gut instict.

Who are you? Can you ever be confused? Aren't you aware of confusion?

It seems to me that what is needed is an awareness of of both the mind and the present moment. The problems start when the mind spins off too much into thinking without being grounded in the now. What is needed then is simply a grounding in the present moment.

The mind and the present moment are the same thing.
When we are aware of awareness, we are liberated from time and mind.

Maybe so, but I don't really want liberation from the mind. I want the mind AND present moment awareness. :)
My guess is that present moment awareness can be felt in the body. When there is a balanced grounding in the now, then the body feels good. If that is true then the body can be used as a 'device' for monitoring present moment awareness. Of course, at first when practicing this, the body starts to feel worse. But that's only because numbness is being melted away. My theory is, even though I haven't managed this myself yet, that when the present moment awareness gets strong enough then the body starts to feel better.

Once you discover that matter is mind, and mind is matter, you see that awareness is eternally beyond both.
