View Full Version : Weird Star in Sky - What is it?

hirschfelder
06-02-2009, 08:35 PM
I noticed a really bright star in the sky, out where there were no other stars. I thought it might be a plane as it's on a flight path, but it hasn't moved.

So I got the binoculars out and had a shufty, it looks like a planet. Does anyone know which one it is?

I'm in Leeds and it's more-or-less in the West

Not really a conspiracy, but some of you know your stuff when it comes to astronomy and I'd be interested to find out which planet it is

This would be Venus from my location, at around 7PM. This is from the freeware program called stellarium. Well worth checking out.

You have to put in your latitude & longitude , and time. And it will show you the sky from your position.

If you use a telescope, you'll see it as a crescent. Of course it always does appear as a crescent in our sky due to it being closer to the sun. For it to be full, the sun would have to be behind us, shining directly onto it, but since it is closer, it would have to be on the opposite side of the sun to see that. I've seen pics that others have taken through a telescope, but don't own a telescope myself, and really want to get a good one. Maybe start moon watching to look for those lunar anomalies (UFOs etc.)!

LOL ! just been doing it, its amazing :D

i couldnt resist it, i had to put in 21/12/2012 ...... whoa !!! im glad i did, you see a complete planetary allignment! throughout the whole day.

Mars/the sun/mercury/venus/neptune/saturn in a perfect line across the sky.

view obviously changes in relation to where you are on the planet however no matter where this allignment is there.

also, the sirius constellation forms a huge "cross" with some other constellations.

N3 Ori - top (of the cross)
betelgeuse - left
Rigel - right
Sirius - bottom

orions belt runs down the middle towards Sirius.

How did you take a screen shot?

check that date dude, theres some interesting planet - star formations. Im definatly going t learn how to use this better.

Very exciting to think of other dates to put in. for example 9/11/01 etc

JOOOOOY!

ahhhh ! how do i take screen shots? so many dates im checking out with very interesting allignments.

im currently looking at sept 11 2001 at 9:11 am.

Jupiter/the moon / and saturn are all inline

jupiter is in gemini (the twins)

the moon is in the centre and Saturn ("Satan") is in Taurus (Taurus being the bull which is also associated with the ancient symbol of Molech, Molech being a symbol and "god" of sacrifice)

what does Jupiter symbolise, im so sure its to do with "the mountain" (Olympus) Zeus etc whos son was Hercules aka the Pillars of Hercules?

lol ok i may be going down some irrational tunnel with that last bit there however there is something to this.

we know that the elite cause events etc on specific dates and allignments. Its to do with the electromagnetic energy caused by the stars/planets/sun etc allignments on specific dates.

Sorry that im not being to technical with this but my attention is mostly on playing with this Stellarium :D loving it.

Jesta as Howie suggets, pressing CTRL+S while in stellarium will take a screenshot. Its better as it just takes the programs screen, and not the rest of the desktop.

It should put the file on the desktop ready for use. The upload and post method, is still the same. :D

any thoughts?

had a quick look at the death and resurection on that software, dont know what i am looking for but i put the art on. At the Precise time of Christs death, there is a few things that strike me.

1. is that a serpent seems to be rising out of the ground
2. That A dragon seems to be falling to the earth.
3. A crow or a raven seems to be riding on the back of the serpent, a crow or raven is often associtated with death.

on the resurection

1. At the top there is a couple of birds flying
2. next to them is pegasus also on the wing

dont know much.....anything lol

Isn't the Gregorian calendar wrong for the supposed birth of christ by minus five to seven years? I do know that 0ad is inaccurate.

Might want to factor that in.
