Please read this account below which was sent to me by email. I am not at all sure what and how I feel about this and how to deal with it in a spiritually mature way. I would be grateful for your thoughts, particularly those of our Australian friends.
Attention: Lady Justice Butler-Sloss
Subject: Disgraceful
You remember February 1993 when a young boy of 3 was taken from a
Liverpool shopping centre by two 10-year-old boys?
Jamie Bulger walked away from his mother for only a second, Jon
Venables took his hand and led him out
of the mall with his friend Robert Thompson.
They took Jamie on a walk for over 2 and a half miles, along the way
stopping every now and again to torture
the poor little boy who was crying constantly for his mummy.
Finally they stopped at a railway track where they brutally kicked
him, threw stones at
him, rubbed paint in his eyes, pushed batteries up his anus and cut
his fingers off with scissors.
Other mutilations were inflicted but not reported in the press. What
these two boys did was so horrendous that Jamie's mother was forbidden
to identify his body.
They then left his beaten small body on railway tracks so a train
could run him over to hide the mess they had created. These two boys, even being boys,understood what they did
was wrong, hence trying to make it look like an accident.
This week Lady Justice Butler-Sloss has awarded the two boys anonymity
for the rest of their lives when they leave custody with new identities.
They will also leave custody early only serving just over half of
their sentence. They are being relocated to Australia to live out the rest of their lives.
They disgustingly and violently took Jamie's life away and in return they each get a new life!
Please . If you feel as strongly as we do, that this is a grave
miscarriage of justice .

They were released years ago, around 2001 and were living in the UK.

What good would taking away their anonymity then relocating them back into British society do though? Or sending them back to jail (or even jail in the first place). There were far better ways of reforming their characters than locking them up as 10 year olds anyway. And as far as it being disgraceful, look at our murderous history that people celebrate, look at Iraq, our soldiers are doing worse now without any righteous indignation from the legal profession. Frankly I hope they live it up in Australia, sun surf and all the other benefits, and especially enjoy the lack of abusive/ neglectful parenting, the sole cause of their compulsion to kill in the first place.
Its a difficult one this, I don't honestly know how to deal with it. Very sick thing to do, but they have been released now, and its how we deal with it now, not how we could have dealt with it, because its too late for that....
I suppose maybe the best way is to move them away to be completely anonnymous, because what good would it do to have them outed everywhere they live....
But another bit of me says thats unfair also, after what they did....

Hold on didn't anyone read my post? They were released years ago. If i remember rightly one has a kid of his own now. Their anonymity was blow within days of them being released. They live in the UK.

This is six years old
They are not going to Australia and never went there either. They were released years ago (2001) and live in the UK.

Yeah i remember something years ago that they had been released, in fact there was a picture of one of them on the front of one of the papers. Could well have been around 2001.

because of the publiserty i very much doubt they had a fun time in jail, they probably got what they gave.

You do understand that they were released years ago dont you?
i dunno i remember getting the circular emails, pertitioning the release. my point is not when they got out but that the time (however long / short) was probably not pleasant. anyway they were kids no matter how demonic they acted they were obviously not mentally right to do somthing like that. anyway i cnt believe were discussing it like sun reader, its most likely an act like that commited by kids is something that has the traits off mind control written all over it. when i was a kid we used to kill rabits with mixy but stuff like that wouldnt even come to mind, so somthing must have put the idear in there mind(s) to do somthing far out like that.

A sun reader? Speak for yourself sir. I am mealy pointing out that the release was announced 6 years ago today. They have been out for years.
In fact the title of this thread "Jamie Bulger's killers given new life in Australia" is completely untrue also. Its the sort of thing that was being printed at the time in papers like the Sun.
To recap the release was announced six years ago today they were released and live in the UK.
Sun reader is that not one of those personal attacks you were warning a certain poster about?

I do not agree with what they did to the little boy, and I feel that what goes around comes around at some stage in life. They are going to have to live with what they have done and the risk of being identified for the rest of their lives.

If you want to make generalisations about people please do not include me as its awfully rude.
