Looking up the meaning of words is useful to know what is being talked about. By others and yourself.

Like the word "ignorant."

1. lacking in knowledge or training; unlearned: an ignorant man.
2. lacking knowledge or information as to a particular subject or fact: ignorant of quantum physics.
3. uninformed; unaware.
4. due to or showing lack of knowledge or training: an ignorant statement.

Many people use it in the wrong manner. Or loosely related as in calling a person an "idiot"

First English dictionary, Robert Cawdrey in 1604.

I can't imagine what a mammoth task that was =)
