Thanks for the post Chris!
A very to-the-point presentation for those who have not yet realised the effect TV has on the mind.

I think there's no doubt that TV affects the human brain, programming us with images, The alpha brain wave state is a highly suggestible state that can be used to de-program people to stop smoking, lose weight. But whats happening is not constructive. Accepting disfunctional relationships via Jerry Springer, Maury, type shows where abnormal and shocking is passed off to the public with constant repetition. Dog eat dog scenarios with backstabbing Survivor /reality shows. News reports by bully pulpit morons like O'Reilly, Hannity, Scarborough, Beltway Boys etc. where they literally scream at people who differ with their views.
I would like to know, is why, in the midst of the greatest financial crisis in history, is there a big, big push to High definition TV (HDTV) I suspect it is related to the converter boxes needed and the concept of brain chemistry. Any ideas?
I have disconnected my TV some time ago, can get all the video content if I want on the internet. I definitely noticed I am sleeping better.

I haven't watched TV regularly for about 4 years maybe in total like 5 hours a year......lately I have noticed just how more obscene it has become with the ridiculous commercials and shows...I can't stand it...you really have to step away from it a bit to see just how negative it really is to your psyche and mind.

Great video chris.
Yes, its true, television is like a microwave for our neurons. It introduces you in an hypnotic trance that attaches you to the "magic box" and you forget the rest of the world.
Its also a way of influence in people`s brain, I mean, TV has the power to make you think that all that is in there is the real truth, if something isnt in television it might not exist or be true...huge manipulation.
But I guess that also computers is not good for our brains, the difference between Internet and TV is that on the Internet you can select and see the information you want at the hour and moment you want, theres not a schedule like in Television and obviously the perception of reality is much bigger.
