Here’s an analogy: An acquaintance of mine once lost his car in an alimony case. He then walked out of the courthouse, drove the car to a river and pushed it in. He said: “I’ll destroy it rather than let her (his ex-wife) get her hands on it!” I contacted "RedPhantom" and he agrees. Could the Lucifer Project be the same kind of thing? The Loomies know they can’t keep control of the Earth so they plan to destroy it rather than let us have it. It’s an act of dog-in-the-manger Gotterdammerung destruction.
I like to always be optimistic and mention something that we can do, but I can’t think of anything this time; the craft is so far away. All we can do is pray that the NASA scientists behind this rebel and refuse to do it. Or that some friendly aliens put a stop to it.
The Lucifer Project is another subject, like Thatcher and her nukes, that I've needed to look at twice to understand. I'd forgotten all about it untill someone at work reminded me of it, one of the few people I can talk to about this stuff who doesn't think I'm a nutter!
The name comes from the book "2010- Oddessey Two" by Arthur C Clarke, a novel about an alien technology which turns the planet Jupiter into a second sun. They call this sun Lucifer because it means "The bringer of light". Oddly enough the transformation occurs in exactly the same way: a black spot appears on the planet's surface! Clarke used to work closely with NASA in the 60's and he invented the communications satelite, the technology which allows us to make phnecalls and watch TV from the other side of the world.
I was going to post on this subject in the other thread yesterday but as i sat to write it went right of my head what i was going to put down , this has happened a few times to me lately , age or something more ? lol.
Anyway yes i tohught if the proposed explosion was capable of causing the chaos intended i did wonder if some alien presence would divert it .Also how far away from us is saturn compared to our sun , how would it really effect us , as we are always being told the massive solar flares we had recently where going to blow allsorts of satellites etc but nothing happened .:D

Saturn is much further away than our sun, more than ten times the distance, but stars have different power levels. A bright hot star could hit the Earth with more energy than the sun even from that distance. In "2010" Clarke comments that "Lucifer abolished night for much of the year. Some species, like a sea turtles, looked like they would die out".
I've contcted "redphantom" and he agrees with me.
Thanks for info , reminds me of the space mirrors they wanted to put up to create permanant daylight some years back .:D ill have to check out 2010 the book and the movie although book wil give me more info as usual

The movie is "okay". It stars Roy Scheider, one of my favorite actors. The book is better though; as usual, as you say. It explains how the aliens do it. They drop self-reproducing machines into the planet that convert all the hydrogen into heavier elements until the planet reaches critical mass and fusion takes place.

quite likely, but it's also possible they're doing it just because they can, which is the worst possible reason to do anything.
i found this interesting:
XLI.
"The great star will burn for seven days,
The cloud will cause two suns to appear:
The big mastiff will howl all night
When the great pontiff will change country"
from nostradamus.

I started reading the WC book Pale Horse last week and I did not know until I read it that NASA crashed the probe into Jupiter with 47lbs of plutonium on board. Other than Jupiter going nuclear has this been verified?

Saw the movie yesterday good film and helen mirren kept her clothes on !wow , lol .Strange the way fact mirrors fiction ? isnt it mmm , they cant help but tell you the plot just like a bad b-movie villian before they try and kill us lol only they never succeed. The book about the ship titan that sank when hitting an icebergcame out just before the titanic , lots of other examples out there. They must have to plant the idea in 3d before thay can make it work for them .some things probably take longer than others to achieve , the bigger the problem etc .If they used old master paintings to encode info then it follows that cinema etc is the modern medium they employ . :D

The last line could well refer to the new pope we've got. He has "changed country" in that the previous one was from Poland and the present one from Germany.

.
And these guys don't need a better reason than that. Just like bullies don't need any reason to abuse the smaller and weaker, than because they can.

Indeed. In fact cinemas are like a kind of esoteric temple, as Neil Hague points out in his book. They have curtains, red velvet and controlled sound and lighting.
Arthur C Clarke, the man who wrote the story, also wrote a story which contains mind control, the internet and finding the wreck of the Titanic in his 1975 novel "Imperial Earth". He invented the communication satelite and got involved in paranormal research. He even presented a paranormal TV show "Arthur C Clarke's Mysterious World". He also predicted what Saturn's moon Iapetus would look like in his novel "2001- a Space Oddessey", long before it was visted by the Voyager Probe. He was very closely involved with NASA and was a great frind of the Viking mission engineer Gentry Lee; they even collaborated on fiction together.
