View Full Version : Am I the only one who.........

Where do I begin? I guess I'll just start with questioning; why do people intend on telling you what to think and what is true and what is false. Now I'm not calling everyone out and maybe I've just had experiences with people on this forum who are just full of hatred, anger, confusion and bigotry, but everytime I speak about things that I believe, suddenly, I'm attacked. Am I the only one who feels this way??
I'm just curious to figure out what makes everyone experts. Just because books are read and articles are studied and information is copied and pasted does not mean that you know what you're talking about. What happened to the good old days when people actually used their own brains and their own thoughts to have conversation instead of using their 'robotic' programmed minds?
Perhaps it's just me, but this forum is getting old quick with all the same recycled posts, time and time again. It's a real shame too, because this forum could actually be used for it's true purpose instead of being used as a 'venting' tool for angry, confused and hateful people. That's what I think anyways......

Yes....the ever present soap box mentality, it is getting rather tiresome and childish, I always assumed this was a place where openend minded persons could have an open discussion without the thought police at every turn, though it still is a great forum full of many wonderful people....what can we do hey?
I say let it be and we shall see, and never let anyone take your energy....... :)
Don't let it get ya down mate, you stick to what you feel is right....follow your heart and don't let anyone tell you different.......

Agree with the above but I see it as a good indicator of who the debunkers are. Maybe there's a better word for them but they are here there is no doubt.

I agree with you james777. And at the same time, I have learnt quite a bit. There are very interesting suggestions and opinions, some are facts and links, some are just opinions. But I sift thru what is mish mash to find the gold.
What I am really interested in though is the Spiritual conversations. And really, thats all there will be in the end, how we can overcome our own personality and ego to find enlightenment. If we take heed of the information that gets thrown around this forum, its clear that most of us believe there is an alien species that has taken control of our world as we know it, we all know them as the Illuminati, some say they are the Reptillian Aliens, some say they are the Lizard people from outer space, some say they are just a family that has a long line of history in power. From the 'messengers' whom are chosen to have contact with some of the more freindly aliens, ie: Pleaidian, one of many different species, we have recieved messages of what path we need to take. It is loud and clear to me that we as humans must grow up, and fast. That we must search for Spiritual Awakening and steer clear of the componants in life that spell corruption and distruction, ie: capitalism, consumerism, self serving, false power etc. That we must join together and help each other along the way to higher being.
Thats what my main interest is. The facts and figures of what is going on in the world is good to know about. But when you are a small fish in a big lake, what is there to do except look in your own back yard. Some of us are chosen and or driven to take on the big battles, but when your just a scared little wierd guy, what you can do to help? Clean your own back yard up.
I love hearing others experiences and journey's towards higher being. It helps me, and the villiage that I live in, I'm always banging on about the spiritual plight of us all. Anyway, I'm raving now. Long story short, I agree with you 777.

I'm not sure what your mind gap is here, but it's kinda got me interested?
the imposing party's are probably just passionate about the topic.....? Or, like myself, still trying to find their feet around the forum, and blowing it at the best of times, and feeling foolish therein. Can they/we be forgiven?
I forgot to say james777,
I kinda thought that we would all just take each other with a grain of salt, especially considering this form of communication. The tone of this forum changes often, I'd like to think we're all a forgiving lot. Much the same as what D I would promote, (to my understanding). I have really been enjoying my time in this forum, even some of the more dominant personality's are enjoyable. I've learnt alot and am grateful for the generocity of some here. It's given me hope that there are alot more people on this path than I thought. I hope you can feel the same.
theres an old proverb in my culture

means; takes more than one person to carry the boat up the beach

This is much easier than your earlier post,
I'm not sure what you mean by "your mind gap" could you embellish?
I love the "waka toa" proverb, I would like to ask what is the proverb, or words for "some people are not capable of carrying boats"? in your culture?
just a question mind, its not important. but I would like an answer without any other prompt from me, perhaps it will be a measure of how many grains of salt you take with others' words.
;) <--- I use that 'smiley' to say 'wink,' as in I am just kidding.
I have also enjoyed sharing knowledge on this forum, I could point to threads where no knowledge is allowed, but I wont unless you pm me ;)
This forum is XLNT in MHO but like the first and original posts 'suggests' it is the minority (albeit increasingly) that spoil it for those of us who just want to learn.
I promise I will answer your other post, the difficulty I am having is 'not offending those that have not learned the art of not being offended.' :)

OK I will take you at your word ngawaka
I will imagine you mean what you say is that ok?
What is an expert?
According to the dictionary ( http://www.askoxford.com/concise_oed/expert?view=uk )
expert
• noun, a person who is very knowledgeable about or skilful in a particular area.
• adjective, having or involving such knowledge or skill.
— DERIVATIVES expertly adverb expertness noun.
— ORIGIN Latin expertus, from experiri ‘try’.
.................................................. .................................................. ..............
I could find others but if that doesnt suffice please let me know,
From who's perspective?
well do I need to answer that, ok, from the dictionaries perspective, what? do you not like it?
sorry I am putting 'imagined words' in your mouth there, we wouldnt want to do that ;)
Plenty of others on this site will do that though,
an honest opinion from you though ngawaka,
would you have just left it if I hadnt explained and taken me putting words in your 'supposed
mouth with a grain of salt?
a second opinion if we may, how about if I threw a few insults into it?
Would you agree, to be an educated man is to be a fool?
Would you agree that a man who doesnt educate himself is a fool?
OK I dont like answering questions with questions, but I do enjoy it.
But in answer, no I do not agree with your statement, it is a bit too 'blinkered' for me. IT does
not take into account infinte possibilities, which is prejudice, and the act of prejudice is ?
Would you agree, we are all one?
pretty much and I would never impose my will on anyone, unlike some bigots here,
(most of them) dont even know what that means.
I would never stop any other person from educating themselves would you ?
Just because we are all one doesnt mean we are all educated equally, how many
millions do not come on this site?
Genuinely interested to hear your opinion.
Thank you, I appreciate that, and I have the utmost respect for anybody asking good
questions and actually wanting good answers, SO I have the utmost respect for you
ngawaka.
If you think I am not serious please read it again, If you think I am tongue in cheek, maybe
I am a little, but I mean my answers and questions respectfully only, this is nothing to do with
the original thread and I dont want to hog it.
Respectfully,
shaun
PS you have many qualities I admire you say what you mean (sometimes) and you mean what
you say and also you do what you think is right, and that is worth far more than the people
james is talking about. Those people do what they think is right, or what they are told to do by
others.. is that our problem, no, people should be left alone without discrimination for their beliefs?
or wants to be educated in the way they choose.
yes?
Its been a pleasure as it always is with a fellow scholar
scholar
• noun
1 a specialist in a particular branch of study, especially the humanities; a distinguished
academic.
2 chiefly archaic a person who is highly educated or has an aptitude for study.
3 a university student holding a scholarship.
— ORIGIN Latin scholaris, from Greek skhole (see SCHOOL).
;)
Would you agree, to be an educated man is to be a fool?
Bob Marley agreed :D :p
We don't have education; we have inspiration. If I was educated, I would be a damn fool.

Wow! I'm not feeling so alone on this forum anymore. I was honestly to the point of saying "fuck it". Don't get me wrong, I LOVE a good debate and I love making people look stupid for their maliciousness, but when it becomes the main focus and nothing is being learned and ideas are being pushed behind the arguments, it just leaves a bitter taste. However, it looks like I've found a handful of us that are here with real intention and real purpose.
JOHN WHITE To answer your question about gaining insight....I would say, 'yes', I am gaining insight, but it's not 'insight' about the things that I'm interested in gaining insight about. Know what I mean?? I think the main reason people try to tell you what to think and tell you what is true and what is false is because they themselves are most unsure about their own beliefs. So in pressuring you to accept their belief system allows them to feel better about having their beliefs. Then you also have those who are genuinely concerned in what you 'believe', but those are the ones who aren't so bold and so pushy and don't try to IMPOSE on you.......
Does truth seek honesty or does honesty seek truth?? Or maybe seeking is honesty and truth? What is truth in a society like we have today where everyone claims it? Does truth actually exist or are we chasing the wind here?

I wanted to start a thread on a topic I'm digging in at the moment to get more info because there are a lot of people with very good ideas and knowledge on this forum, but then I thought fuck it, don't have the time to defend myself, would rather look for the answer on my own.

Good on you ,James
You're not alone on this forum'
(or anywhere else )
Sure , you'll probably end up having arguments with people,
But you will also find many people you feel empathy towards.
And I am sure in the long run, people will stop judging you for your beleifs
and accept you for the kind human being that you are.
Good luck.

Well I've been known to engage in a fair amount of "Internet Wudan" myself James so I certainly identify with your love of debate. I've become a lot less inclined to that style of posting over time though, as I came to find it creates as many difficulties as it solves. I only tend to get involved in "heavy debating" when campaigning on extremely five sense level subjects (9/11 Truth for example): facts are facts, especially when dealing with such real world questions as crash physics
But motivations...why people do things... these are far more ephemeral issues, where truth is found in the eye of the beholder, and that truth is relative and given to adaptation. Neither is the truth gained always relevant to what we might think we are looking for: as you yourself mention in your post James
FWIW, my answer would probably start with concepts like reflection. We tend to act/react most favourably to that which most vibes with our own image of ourselves, and least favourably to that which is most discordant to that same self-image. On the surface, this appears to be reaction against ideas we are opposed to: but it is more subtle: we also react subconsciously against that which most reminds us of aspects of ourselves we do not like or wish to confront, acknowledge or be aware of. This may be rationalised as straightforward opposition by the conscious mind, but beneath the surface a very different story is being told: and this is the basis of classic opposame behaviour
We see this in the faux opposition of apparent opposites: an extreme example, Nazism vs Communism, presented as opposite poles when they are simply the same behaviour in a different dress: and I observe this pattern on forums all the time, and of course in human nature: we react strongest against what is most like the shadow side of ourselves. This can even be understood as a way of projecting onto others our own inner struggle to reconcile our egoic natures. There are some prominent examples here: Baron Von Lotsov is a great example: something very endearing about the rigidly mind controlled warning about mind control whilst advocating mind control. One tends to laugh!
I wonder if, with yourself, concern about being imposed upon and being unable to express yourself, is creating a tendency to perceive being imposed upon and unable to express yourself, counter balanced by an awareness that you can express yourself and have a choice as to whether to feel imposed upon... leading to a dynamic between the POV’s as they compete for dominance within you
Because one thing I have learned is that as long as I can post, I am free to post whatever I care to, and no-one can actually impose upon that unless I myself allow them to by being in any way threatened by anybody else’s point of view... which is why, for me, (effectively) it never happens, and I post with confidence in the resonnance of my own voice

I'm not sure what your mind gap is here, but it's kinda got me interested?
the imposing party's are probably just passionate about the topic.....? Or, like myself, still trying to find their feet around the forum, and blowing it at the best of times, and feeling foolish therein. Can they/we be forgiven?
I would like to know what you mean by mind gap ngawaka? Is it a term from your culture as it is not one I have heard before?
I completely agree that the imposing parties are passionate about the topic that they insist on following, I just think that to do that on a thread about something completely different is known as hijacking.
Imagine ........ people having a lovely boat, on a beach and they are just about to set sail to (probably) gather fish for a feast or celebration, perhaps for a festival, and then passionate carpenters come along, just before the launch, and chisel many holes in the bottom of the boat, rendering it useless for the time being,
a question, if you had spent two years or so building that boat, and the all important feast was impossible, would you immediately forgive the 'chiselers' ?
We can forgive them, and that is only right, (some people do not think they require forgiveness because their passion is (exactly that) their passion.)
should the 'chiselers' help rebuild the boat?
perhaps that will increase their understanding of the time spent and passion invested in the making of the boat. Or would encouraging them to understand be seen as a punishment? and therefore discrimination against the chiselers passion.
Or, like myself, still trying to find their feet around the forum, and blowing it at the best of times, and feeling foolish therein. Can they/we be forgiven?
A good point ngawaka, But I honestly believe, (correct me if I am wrong please,) that james is not referring to those trying to find their feet on the forum, and I am almost sure that not one of the bigots on this forum feel foolish, (they are either self appointed or supported)
I would say the self appointed guard dog on behalf of all others on this forum, (many of whom are too 'fearful' to engage with him or her or anyone connected, including the so called victim (LMAO)) that attacked me personally as well as a considerable number of others, thinks he is the 'perfect one who cannot be faulted in anyway whatsoever.' If james has been a victim of this pirate, I am not surprised he thought on the lines of feeling alone.
Just a few more thoughts and questions, I am genuinely interested in your opinions.
Wow! I'm not feeling so alone on this forum anymore. I was honestly to the point of saying "fuck it". Another good post, I would like to ask though, what is the topic you are digging in at the moment, If I said you should start the thread anyway and see how it goes, I could be considered a hypocrite, having left a subject I am digging in well alone since feeling alone along with a considerable number of other members ;)

You my friend boil with cavernous wisdom, knowledge and insight. I applaud.

True, true, you may be onto something here. It's not the 'drama' that attracts me, it's the way I can seemlessly over come every objection with ease, consistency and perciseness. Perhaps I'm looking for questions, theories, objections...ect....that I don't have answers for and I feel that aggressive conversation brings out the fundemental passion in everyone. I don't mind being 'attacked', I just wondered if I am the only one who gets it.

Hi festive, sorry taken me a while to get back, im always sprinting around tryna do 10,000 things. Your first question, 'mind gap' is my slang for 'your thoughts'.
2nd, in my culture our old language was spoken with alot of metophorics, and we have a lot of nga whakatauki (proverbs). The only example I can give you is, its like, "pot calling the kettle black" or "6 of 1 half dozen of the other", do you catch my drift? Hope so.
waka toa has a few meanings, 1, you must not think that you are able to carry a boat on your own. In other words, are you a team player? Or community minded. (and just a note, the waka of the Maori could carry 100 to 100 people, so this proverb doesn't refer to a dingy) 2nd meaning, you will never be alone or don't be alone come join in. 3rd to my knowledge, you won't get anywhere if you think singular especially when there is a group behind you and you take credit for the work done by this group. So really its speaks of humility. Hope that helps.

You crack me up festive, I like it. And yes the chiselers should rebuild the boat, but if they don't doesn't matter, its their loss, and I will still forgive them. The reason for this, some where at sometime they will just have to go thru the lesson of curbing the drive inside themselves to chisel holes in a boat just cause its on the beach. The danger in this is if they didn't learn the lesson from the first boat, the next boat they choose may belong to someone no where near as forgiving as me.
i've enjoyed keep it rockin festive

weird editing problems, uncharacteristic spelling mistakes, or anything weird at all that
happens while having these pages open. logging in problems, no reminders coming for

I am happy to learn of your culture, it is pleasing. I do catch your drift ;) but how well versed are you really at english proverbs?
I havent read all of james posts so I cant be sure if he is guilty of anything, maybe he was the pot, I dunno. I can assure you I believe I am guilty of nothing other than informing of what I know is true and asking questions, so as this thread is all about people firing
misconcieved bullets, I can safely say, there was no pots or half dozens in my own experience.
And all the evidence is there, in legally binding irrefutable evidence provided so nicely by
