is it just me or does this site run really slow for anyone else? i meen really slow too! any other link or site i go to pops up straight away, so i know its not my connection. I noticed that around last week it started to slow down, but for the last couple of days its got a lot worse. i sometimes have to click on the links 2 or 3 times before they work.
i get the feeling every link clicked on this site must be going through some sort of 3rd party screening or tracking. maybe the site is overloaded? or having trouble? maybe a moderator could fill me in if its the site itself. thanks.

I get it all the time. It's either the server or the reptiles. :D

All the time...it takes up to 15 secs to open pages or threads and sometimes up to half a minute or more to submit a comment. Drives me nuts.
Grrr but i :D and bear it.

Hello parallel.
Since the forum started our membership has climbed to over 6,000 people, and the number of casual visitors rate has climbed substatially too. In addition to that, Sean has been up-loading video-casts to the premier subscriber forum, and people are watching them, and its using up a lot of our bandwidth.
So the short answer to why we are all experiencing slow page-loads and time-outs is lack of bandwidth - we have grown and now we need a bigger server, a situation I have been assured will be attended to asap.
Meanwhile we all have to just grin and bear it I guess. :p

I have 10MB broadband and it can take up to a minute to get 1 page, I have weird editing problems also see my thread "weird editing problems " lol
it is the server, I have my own opinions but ......... ah forget it lol
I have been assured there is nothing wrong with the server, I agree though that bandwidth capacity needs to be increased but I thought (imagined) that high traffic would have been a consideration before any server arrangements were made, I am not on an ego trip here, just trying to make constructive comments, If its possible. I believe certain restrictions set on the vbulletin forums features are increasing traffic unneccassarily, but I will admit my mistake if I am wrong.
EDIT: having just read LL's signature, I may want to say I am not judging anything without basing it on previous experience.

Thanks limelady and parallel -
Thought it was just me. I have highspeed internet, but this site runs like molasses in January.

The forum needs a server like this one:
http://forum.everyonedoesit.co.uk/index.php (http://forum.everyonedoesit.co.uk/index.php)
There is an average of 5000 active users on at any moment, and it runs fine! :)

Yes, I've got the same problem. The site is unreponsive and slow. I've known other forums that use this software and they're the same. Some days are worse than others.

frustrating, but well worth it for the content. mind you, my thirst for this content is far greater then the speed i can get it. :D

I always have a book to read or a Youtube cast open to pass the time when the forum is in "low gear".
