Hey everyone,
I'm 24 and I gave up smoking canabis 4 years ago. I smoked it daily for 4 years and it's messed my memory up. I can't keep facts or details in my head any more. It is really bad. I don't drink or smoke. I am tryna be a healthy as possible.
I mean, I can remember very important things, but anything else I have to write down. I have lists all over my house.
Can anyone give me any tips for how to boost by brain power to it's former glory :D

Maybe, hold on a min were did I put the rizzlas.
There's people who've never smoked a spliff and they cannot remember things either. It can run in the family?
After 4 years without any you said, I can't see a link to cannabis.
If you still smoked than maybe that would be it.
Too much time on forums/internet can mess up thought processes.

It’s the good old raw plant food diet. That permits the body to recover from almost anything.
A few things to aid the recovery process:
Take a few drops of marine phytoplankton oil each day, perhaps several times each day,
Minimise your omega-6 intake, and ensure your omega-3 to omega-6 ratio is at least 1:1,
Look into certain herbs such as skullcap, gota kola, and others,
Avoid animal products, sugar, and EMT (electromagnetic transmitions, from computers, high voltage, cell phones, etc.).
There are other things, but doing the above would be a good start, if all that is needed.

Good idea, but best to limit the heavier foods and focus more on the green smoothies for a while.

Yes, agree with Ratio, raw food is best. I have also heard that a cup full a day of blueberries can bring back memory loss, also if you suffer from candida that causes problems with your memory. I am also suffering a bit and am trying to reclaim my memory back also. I have also being taking Zeolite drops for a while, that has helped.
As raw as possible, is the key...and I completely emphathise...

It could be this. Since I've moved I spend a LOT of time online.
Avoid animal products, sugar, and EMT (electromagnetic transmitions, from computers, high voltage, cell phones, etc.).
actually, i do eat a bit too much sugar, i know it's bad but im a chocoholic. also, my family and bf live miles away so i keep in touch with my mobile. Sometimes I use it for 2 hours a day!! That prolly aint doin much good.

hi there serenevasaline,
Dont fret, I was a heavy dope smoker from the age of 13 to 21(im now 23), I'll admit quitting was easy. But I can sympathise with you fully and offer some advice on things that helped me alot through the withdrawal effects that followed.
First of all.... What I did, since I was determined to recover was research about which herb's, vitamins & Minerals and foods that would help improve brain performance overall. I recommend checking out Neurozan by Vitabiotics (http://www.vitabiotics.com/Brain-Health.aspx), it contains literally everything that your brain needs in terms of nutrition. I took that everyday for just under a year and I could feel the results. I also did alot of reading about the herb Gingko Biloba and different types of ginseng's, I took one 6,000mg Gingko Biloba tablet everyday for 3 months with a week or two break before starting regime again. Gingko Biloba truly lives up to the scientific hype for short-term memory expansion, Concentration etc.
Ginseng not only increased the potency of gingko but gave me a steady & strong flow of energy throughout the day, you wont need coffee or want coffee after Korean Ginseng lol ;)
The most important things though to keep the brain healthy and improve memory are to have a good diet, exercise regime and sleep routine. Personally
I became addicted to pumpkin seeds which boosted my omega 3 & 6 intake and were better than crisps... :) Sleep plays a vital role, on top of a decent nights sleep I read that having a nap in the afternoon increased productivity amongst other things. When it came to exercise, walking and doing some weights was enough for me...
The final thing I did was to exercise my brain by Reading everything, practicing memory techniques and visualization etc
And you could also look into Heartmath Solution a sound theory and technique for brain/heart synchronization which improves concentration and coherence. Remembering dreams and practicing lucid dreaming increases
brain performance, it takes some effort though :)
Oh and I would avoid tap water and use a non fluoridated toothpaste. :)
Hope thats what you wanted.... Give it 1-2 months and you will really see the results.
(I'm so proud of my first post)

wow, one hell of a first post =)
thanks for all of that info:)
You just reminded me, my grandad who died recently used to take Ginko Biloba and he was sharp:). I would be sitting in the nursing home trying to remember directions and he would remember the streets before I would. He hadn't even left that one room for 5 years!! I think I'll be havin me some of that.:D

I reckon it was a very good first post.:)
A balanced Diet is important but the main factor is exercise and the herbs you mentioned as well as the brain exercises. The brain is an organ and if you can get the neurons firing up again, opening up different areas of your brain then you are on a winner. To much dope causes you not to think, just dream:) so you have to, IMO start working the brain with the memory technic's.
Keep practicing serenevasaline, :)

You need Protein as Neurotransmitters are made from Amino acids so I would definitely not recommend you avoiding animal products.
If you can eat plenty of oily fish or take Eskimo 3 fish oils.
I dont think using the forums has any way contributed to your memory problem.

Memory loss and poor cognitive functioning, is very often associated with B12 and folate deficiencies.
Try taking a daily 1000mcg sublingual B12 supplement along with 5mg of Folic Acid for a month or so and see if your memory smartens up. If your memory and thinking capacity improve dramatically, it would indicate you may not have been covering your dietary basics sufficiently, and in order to avoid deficiencies in the future you will need to ensure you are incorporating plenty of folate and B12 rich foods into your regular daily diet. :)

This is some seriously bad advice.
moina, do you think plants have no protein? Plants are the best form of protein; the greens are the highest with spirulina and chlorella the best sources of all.
Animal protein is detrimental to health and promotes malignant tumour growth, as well as being correlated with very many other chronic diseases. Stay well clear of that poison, it is not our natural food. It is not a food at all but a pretend food and a stimulant.
Fish oil is also bad news, in many ways. Fish get their omega-3 from marine phytoplankton, which is what I recommended earlier. The best thing to do is get it straight from the source, rather than second hand after it has been filtered through a sewer and tainted with mercury residue and other toxins.
Leafy green vegetables contain plenty of omega-3, as well. They contain omega-3 in a lower form which the body converts into DHA if it is permitted to; too much omega-6 prevents it from converting this omega-3, which is why you should limit omega-6 intake.
For God's sake stay away from fish and animal products. They are detrimental to human health.

Try taking a daily 1000mcg sublingual B12 supplement
Make sure the B12 you buy is methylcobalimine, or if that is not available Cyanocobalamin as an alternative.

Me too mate, I'm 25 though never a regular smoker (got too paranoid)
My short-term memory is seriously bad, it's a bit of a joke with mates and fiance but something I'm pretty concerned about as it can be really embarassing and for want of a better word It makes me feel stupid... Well, moreso I think others may believe I am.
Does anyone think that flouride could possibly have an effect on short term memory? i only ask because I drink a hell of a lot of water.

Hi,
This is where I get mine from...
http://www.liquid-zeolite.co.uk/
It has lots of info, if you want more, then just google...benefits of zeolite..etc...
It really is fantastic. I can't recommend it enough. I think it also boosts your seratonin levels, hence you really feel so calm, balanced, healthy and on a natural high...Also, since taking it for a while, I now no longer have any painful menstrals, no painful tummy, no PMT, NOTHING...I use to dread the time of the month, dreadful PMT, awful mood swings, awful painful tummy, sometimes bed ridden and in agony...now, all of that is gone..
I highly recommend it...

wow. Thankyou!!! I have TERRIBLE periods!! They are seriously awful. Just like you said. Bedridden. One little move feels like an agonising earth quake in my womb and in my thighs. I cry at the drop of a hat. I actually cried when I finished Call Of Duty 4 once:D. Shake like a nutter. Go hot and then cold. all that crap. I'm so glad you mentioned these:)
And OddBlock, yeah, I know where you're coming from:( people seem to think I'm dopey. I dunno if it's flouride, because everyone would have the same problem you would think. The water here in Liverpool has started to smell really chemical-ly lately.

I live in London - And after doing a bit of research this morning I don't actually think the water is flouridated here
Crap... Maybe I AM just dopey :D
That's flouride out of the question, for my problems anyway.
Going back to the herb, I have very successful friends who smoke regularly, and I mean regularly who show none of these symptoms.

Hmm, I don't really know anything, but maybe it's not just the cannabis. Could at least partially be due to TV, internet, cellphones and all the invisible forces in the city.
Maybe just spending some time in the countryside away from all the modern contraptions would help. You'd have more time to be alone with your thoughts.
