A few weeks back i phoned TV licensing to tell them i do not have a TV in my house, which is true(i was tired of getting those fascist letters) and explained to them why. Instead of being met with derision i was spoken to with genuine interest. The reason i don't use one isn't just because TV is mind numbing it is that they seem to bother me more these days with regards to physical symptoms. I explained this to the woman on the other end of the line and she wasn't surprised. She actually told me a lot of people are phoning up telling her this, especially those with LCD screens and those who use Freeview. She said a lot of people have become so ill by using these they can't use these sets and have to revert back to the old style TV's or they've become sensitised that TV sets now bother them and they no longer watch it!

From my experience LCD monitors and TV's make me feel a hell of a lot worse than the old style CRT's and im not the only one by the sounds of it. So i guess it's not just the cell phones it's now the TV's that are disrupting many peoples health.

Interesting post. Especially hearing about the views of the woman you spoke to at TV licensing. I have both CRT tv and monitor here, which I thought were worse that LCD. I'll have to keep an eye out for other reports on the flat screens. Ultimately I would like to get away from any screen or at least restrict the viewing time but am finding this difficult.

Interesting. I've noticed I've been feeling under the weather more frequently ever since I started work at a new job. It's where I get to sit in front of an LCD screen for forty hours a week.

Fortunately, I don't spend much time around this stuff when I'm not at work. I hardly ever watch TV, aside from the occasional DVD or video game. I can't stand cell phones (I barely tolerate ordinary phones) and I have no use for an I-Pod or any similar useless gadget.

I try to restrict my time spent around this stuff, but I wonder if that's enough? I'll have to look into that.

off topic a bit but i took the step of getting rid of my tv last week, already i feel how peacfull it is when that things not blasting crap in my face anymore.ill still go to my gf house to watch the program lost, and ill go to a friends to watch the celtic play but thats it.

it realy does feel better not having it around after 29 years of brainwashing, try it for a couple of days and see the differance it makes.
