What a story, anti-christ and NWO undertones...i can't tell you how cause it will ruin it for you!

This movie has a message and is damn worth it for the ending too! An I am Me, I am Free orgy lol ;)

HA HA! Well, i hope the ending in the film version won't disappoint you Pierre jean, i don't think it well, it's HOT lol and totally unexpected seeing as i haven't read the book...this was my face lol :eek:

I'm thinking they must have computer generated segments of the "crowd" lol cause how could they get that many people to do "that" lol all out in the open, even if it was a set...SHOCKING lol :D

It's a brilliant film, did you find an anti-christ metaphor in the book too? Or maybe it's just the movie but just the way the crowd are waiting fo rhim to be executed and then they all fall in love with him cause of what he has in his hand...and then they all do what they do lol :D


although that scene isn't the actual ending, it's just leading up to the ending...the ending is well, very final for the guy, there is literally nothing left of him in the end yuk!

I love a good film that makes you think, so exciting too not boring at all and i usually loathe period dramas, this ones different.

I have just seen film. Very good adaptation of the book I think. The decorations and the evocation of Paris (dirtier you die:eek:) are superb, beautiful images and excellent sonore background. The actors are very good (Grenouille, Dustin Hofman...), in short beautiful work. I had not seized allusion anti Christ but now that you spoke to me about it :D It's more obvious... But I found also interesting the passage where Hofman explains the egyptian legend about the lost essence perfume, the The thirteenth one !!!

The orgy is well filmed I think, moreover I do not know how they made, I did not see a testicle trailing :D

Grenouille chose not to benefit from its capacity finally. He would be rather an anti anti Christ :D

the book is one of my favourites of all time (a close second after ben okri's 'a famished road'), i just hope this movie does the book justice, very high expectations this side.

What anti-christ theme do you get from it?
Only halfway through watching it, but its much like an allegory for the narcissistic wound... abandoned child, cruel mother-figure with a name similar to Gaia (cruel earth), takes the lefthand path, creates a false self, murders women to posses them (craving a connection to his lost anima)...

He regarded normal, infantile Narcissism to be dependent on the affirmation of others and the acquisition of desirable and appealing objects, which should later develop into healthy, mature, self esteem. This healthy Narcissism depends upon an integrated sense of self, that incorporates images of the internalized affirmation of those close to us, that is regulated by the super ego and ego ideal, internal mental structures that assure us of our worth and that we deserve our own respect.

What makes the narcissistic false self a 'self' of sorts that houses pathological narcissism it the reality that it is a pseudo self that was born out of the trauma of the core wound of abandonment. It rises from the juncture at which the lost authentic self was unable to psychologically survive and continue to develop

the anti christ...well it's where hes about to be executed, and because he has created the most incredible scent he has all the power...he arrives in the carriage wearing the kings clothes after releasing the scent in the cell when they came for him...the crowd stunned to be smelling this scent fall at his feet in love with him...and begin to love eachother a little too much lol...he has the ultimate power now with his creation when only a litle while before he was a vile murder...it's fantastic, i just love it!!!!

the scene is a hundred times better than my description obviously lol

it would be one of my favourites, only, i couldn't watch it often cause its a bit hard on the tummy, well mine anyway...i'm extremely squeamish in nature lately :rolleyes:
