But, strange to say, there is no doubt that Pope Pius IX. was himself a Freemason. His signature still exists in the books of one of the Italian Lodges of Monte Video. Shortly after his ordination Mastai Ferretti (which was his secular name) was sent as Auditor to the Vicar-General of Chile, and at one time it was believed that he was initiated into Freemasonry in that country. When, in later years, he was appointed Apostolic Delegate in Uruguay he appeared in the Lodges as a fully qualified Freemason, and a writer in the Libertad del Pensamiento, a Madrid journal, in 1870, said that there was in existence in the possession of one whose name he gave (Soussingeas) a portrait of the Pope in Masonic regalia.
Quite recently, however, any doubt that may have existed on the question was put on one side by the discovery of the initiation of Pope Pius IX. into Freemasonry in the Lodge Eterna Catena of Palermo on 15th August 1839. The following is a translation from the Italian of the Bollettino Officiale del Grande Oriente Nazionale Egiziano:—
"Orient of Nuremburg, Lodge of Germanic Loyalty, daughter of the Grand Lodge of Bavaria, working under constitutions emanating from the Grand Mother Lodge of the Three Globes of Berlin.
"Our archives contain, under No. 13,715, the following document, certified and authenticated in regular and required form, written in Italian, and bearing the great seal of the Grand Lodge Luce Perpetua of Naples :
"'Masonic Lodge Eterna Catena of Palermo :
"'We, Master Masons, dignitaries and officials of the third degree of Masonry of St John, certify in the name of the Supreme Master, who directs all, that on this, the date given below, at the hour of twelve at night, we have received in this Lodge in the form prescribed by our rituals, and with entire conformity to our constitution, the Brother Giovanni Ferretti Mastai, a native of the Pontifical States, who, having assumed the oath in the presence of all of us, declared that he did not belong to any secret society hostile to this Lodge, and who has paid the charges demanded of him.
"'Wherefore we call upon all the Masonic Lodges of the world to recognise him and hold him as a genuine and true Mason, received in a just and perfect Lodge, and thus we regard and certify him, as a conscientious and honourable man.

In 1874 the Voice of Masonry published the following item of news :—
" At the semi-annual meeting of the Grand Lodge of Masons Scottish Rite of the Orient of Palermo, Italy, on 27th March last, Pope Pius IX. was excommunicated from the Order. The decree of expulsion was published in the official Masonic paper at Cologne, Germany, and is preceded by the minute of the Lodge in which he was initiated, and is as follows :
" ' A man named Mastai Ferretti, who received the baptism of Freemasonry, and solemnly pledged his love and fellowship, and who afterwards was crowned Pope and King, under the title of Pio Nino, has now cursed his former Brethren and excommunicated all members of the Order of Freemasons. Therefore, said Mastai Ferretti is herewith, by decree of the Grand Lodge of the Orient, Palermo, expelled from the Order for perjury.'
" The charges against him were first prepared in his Lodge at Palermo in 1865, and notification and copy thereof sent to him, with a request to attend the Lodge for the purpose of answering the same. To this he made no reply, and for divers reasons the charges were not pressed until he urged the Bishops of Brazil to act aggressively towards the Freemasons. Then they were pressed, and, after a regular trial, a decree of expulsion was entered and published, the same being signed by Victor Emmanuel, King of Italy, and the Grand Master of the Orient of Italy." The king thus returned his compliments for the "major excommunication" which the Pope had sent him a few years previously with the Pope’s kind regards." "It is difficult," said the Pall Mall Gazette in October 1874, "to see what retort Pius IX. can make to this decree, unless, indeed, he has in reserve some still more formidable maledictory missile to launch at the Grand Lodge of the Orient. But in these days, unfortunately, a papal anathema is hardly as terrible as a Masonic decree."

Nov 16 - 2002 - Fátima International (FI), an historic review organisation with offices in Australia, USA, Paraguay and Portugal, has issued a further press release claiming that Cardinal Angelo Roncalli, who was elected as Pope John XXlll in 1958, was a Freemason. In 1994 the Portuguese newspapers “O Dia” and “Correio de Domingo” published a summary of FI’s investigations into the case, which stated that Pope John XXlll had been initiated into a secret society, the Order of Rosicrucians, whilst serving as the Vatican’s Charge d´Affairs in Paris during 1935.

A spokesman for FI told THE NEWS that Virgilio Guito, former head of the Italian Grande Oriente Masonic Lodges, in a statement published by the French newspaper “30 Days”, said: “It seems that Pope John XXIII has been initiated in Paris, and participated in the works of the Lodges in Istanbul”. The spokesman said that as leader of Italian Masonry, Guito would be in a position to know with certainty if Angelo Roncalli had been initiated into the Order in Paris. “It would be incredibly reckless of him to make such a statement if it were not true” he said.

The implications of FI’s disclosures are of tremendous importance to Catholics worldwide. Under Canon Law any Catholic who became a Mason was ipso facto excommunicated from the Church. The consequence regarding Angelo Roncalli, would have been that as an excommunicate it would have been impossible for him to be elected pope. FI also points out that any decrees issued by Roncalli under the mantle of the Papacy would therefore be null and void, including the convoking of the Second Vatican Council in 1962.

Long-standing suspicions regarding John XXIII’s links to Masonry were further aroused in 1977, fourteen years after his death. Of particular interest was an advertisement published in the USA, Boston Pilot Magazine, which was offering for sale replicas of John XXIII’s pectoral cross. The cross was decorated with several Masonic symbols and had been authorised for sale by Archbishop Capovilla of Loreto, Italy, with the backing of the Vatican.

The Australian Robert Bergin, a founder member of FI who died in 1996, spent the last years of his life in Portugal, where he financed several publications detailing the facts linking the plight of Roncalli to the prophecies given by the Virgin Mary at Fátima in 1917. His efforts to persuade the Vatican to investigate Roncalli’ s Masonic connections were unsuccessful. This was of little surprise, as in 1976 the Vatican had failed to respond to the Italian journal, Burghese, which had published a list of over one hundred bishops and cardinals who it claimed were Freemasons. The list was purported to have been taken from the Italian Masonic Register and included the initiation dates and code names assigned to each of the clerics involved.

To answer these questions consider the following line of reasoning. The woman we presently recognize as our mother is such by virtue of our having been born into the world from her womb. Yet this is not the first and only time we have taken birth. The continuity of our consciousness stretches back over infinite time and the births we have taken have been countless. As we have been born countless times it follows we have had countless mothers. Thus there is not a single being we meet who, over the incalculable expanse of beginning less time, has failed to be our mother.

Despite the altered form and appearance of those we encounter and the failings of our extremely limited memory, once we become convinced of the logic of the above line of reasoning there will be nothing to prevent us from viewing each being with the same warm recognition we now effortlessly extend to our present mother.

Quakes shake loose fears about Yellowstone volcano
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Run for your lives ... Yellowstone's going to explode!

Hundreds of small earthquakes at Yellowstone National Park in recent weeks have been an unsettling reminder for some people that underneath the park's famous geysers and majestic scenery lurks one of the world's biggest volcanoes.

In the ancient past, the volcano has erupted 1,000 times more powerfully than the 1980 blast at Mount St. Helens, hurling ash as far away as Louisiana. No eruption that big has occurred while humans have walked the earth, however, and geologists say even a minor lava flow is extremely unlikely any time soon.

Some observers are nonetheless warning of imminent catastrophe.

"To those of us who have been following these events, we know that something is brewing, especially considering that Yellowstone is over 40,000 years overdue for a major eruption," warned a posting on the online disaster forum Armageddononline.org.

Another Web site contained a page entitled "Yellowstone Warning" that encouraged "everyone to leave Yellowstone National Park for 100 miles around the volcano caldera because of the danger in poisonous gasses that can escape from the hundreds of recent earthquakes."

That site, which carried the U.S. Geological Survey logo, has since been taken down.

"A casual observer would be led to believe that was an official source," park geologist Hank Heasler said, pointing out that the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory, which monitors the park for seismic activity, hasn't changed the volcano's alert level from "normal."

Working with the Geological Survey, Yellowstone spokesman Al Nash issued a press release Thursday saying no evacuation had been ordered.

Jessica Robertson, a Geological Survey spokeswoman in Reston, Va., said the Web page violated the USGS trademark and that the agency's attorneys were investigating whether a federal offence was committed.

Behind our time imprinted 3 dimensional reality is a mosaic of consciousness not held within the confines of a time line. We are a consciousness which has thrown out an infinitude of individual personal experiential realities and each separate "me" is cast out alone within a specific frequency or time line and immediately cloaked with a veil of forgetfulness. And embedded within this fog of forgetfulness is a pin point of Light. We live in a world created by metaphor. We stand beneath a shower of metaphor. It is literally raining metaphor at all times. We are constantly creating metaphors, agreeing with others on the validity of their metaphors. We string metaphors around the tree of life as if they were popcorn and it was Christmas.

We live in a metaphorical universe and the prime images as well as the edges of the veil are constantly being modified and pushed back. From time to time the masters of metaphorical creation build a metaphorical paradigm so big and so "real" that we, as a species, agree that these are not simply metaphors but "Truths" and so we inhabit that space until eventually it becomes so confining that new metaphors begin to emerge, but these new temporal truths usually do not arise from within the confines of the old paradigm,. The new "Picture" has to come from "left field" and shatter the old model. These become like nested boxes, each competing to be the totality of the Big Picture. We currently inhabit a Science paradigm. Science seems to operate from the smallest verifiable level upwards towards the heavens, whereas the Spiritual community comes from the largest down to the smallest. One major difference being that science is based on being able to verify and duplicate "Facts" whereas spirituality is based on Faith and is seemingly at odds with science. Faith is the drive within humans for something beyond metaphor. Science says there is nothing beyond metaphor.

At some time these two arms of investigation, these two metaphorical creative engines will begin to overlap. I think this period of overlap is now. Science is outgrowing its rather ridged box and people coming from Spiritual (intuitive) source are discovering (remembering) tools long forgotten which are beginning to lift the veil. What we may be talking about are right brain/left brain finally coming into focus and that point of focus may very well be the long dormant "Penile" gland. The fact may be that our brain, as awesome as it is, may not even be turned on yet. What we need is a new genre, a metaphorical language that is coherent to both the scientist and the metaphysician. For it to be relevant to both sides, there have to be truths which are held self evident by both sides. And one of these core truths has to be that we are MORE than our physical body. Consciousness, in some form, continues after the apparent demise of the physical body. A physical body is something we "choose" to inhabit. It isn't an accident and it isn't a random assemblage of molecules. To paraphrase that famous quote about evolution: "to believe in the theory of evolution is like believing that a tornado moved over a junk yard and assembled a 747." We are more than an evolved germ.

We have ultimate memory and we "choose" to forget what we know so as to more directly and deeply experience our 3 dimensional adventure. This is a specific frequency of experience we are inhabiting and we have the creative ability to peel back and lift this veil of forgetfulness. It would seem that we are reclaiming our prime truth, metaphor by metaphor.

It's not so much we are deaf, dumb and blind out of a state of ignorance as much as we are incredibly wise and have chosen to forget so that we may learn at the deepest level. We are here to grow our Soul. But behind this veil of forgetfulness, behind our specific time imprinted reality, is a vast consciousness taking it all in and savoring and growing from the combined experience as one by one the individual veils of forgetfulness thin and lift, eventually causing each representative consciousness to come on like an electric light. All in time. The veils are thinning, the veils are beginning to lift. But the metaphors are no longer coming from the Priests of science nor the hand maidens of psychology. The new metaphors which will trigger the lifting of the veil will not come from science but from far left field. From the fields of film, computer science and hypnotherapy.:)

Or, conversely, they could make the impact even worse than expected. And according to a study that sent tremors through the scientific community last week, that is exactly what seems to be happening in Greenland. Glaciers that flow toward the ocean in the southern half of that enormous frozen island are among the world's fastest moving, and their massive outpouring of ice now contributes fully a sixth of the annual rise in sea level. According to a study in the current issue of Science, they have nearly doubled their rate of flow over the past five years, to about 8 miles a year, dumping icebergs and meltwater into the already rising ocean faster than anyone expected. "In 1996 Greenland was losing about 100 cu km of ice per year," says Eric Rignot of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, lead author of the study, which he presented at last week's meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in St. Louis, Mo. "This year it will lose more than twice as much." By comparison, he says, in 1996 Greenland dumped 90 times as much water into the sea as Los Angeles consumed; last year it was up to 225 times. "In the next 10 years," says Rignot, "it wouldn't surprise me if the rate doubled again."

No computer climate model anticipated that increase, which means that all current predictions about how much sea level could rise--the latest U.N. report estimated it at a half-meter (about 1.5 ft.) by the end of the century--are too low and will have to be revised upward. Greenland's ice cap covers more than 650,000 sq. mi. and in places stands nearly 2 miles thick. "If it all melted or otherwise slid into the ocean, sea level would rise by 20 ft. or so," says Michael Oppenheimer, a professor of geosciences and international affairs at Princeton. Under conventional global-warming scenarios, that will eventually happen--but over a period of several thousand years. The new study suggests that it could happen in a few hundred years. "That's a few feet per century," says Oppenheimer, "which may not sound like a lot, but it's more than society can handle. In places like the Eastern seaboard of the U.S., a 1-ft. vertical rise in sea level means a 100-ft. retreat of shoreline." In low-lying countries like Bangladesh, the resulting flooding could dwarf the 2004 tsunami.

What jump-started the glaciers' outflow isn't precisely clear, but scientists point to two likely triggers. The first, says Julian Dowdeswell of the Scott Polar Research Institute at the University of Cambridge, is the breakup of ice "tongues" that reach out into the sea at the glaciers' leading edges. It's likely, he says, that removing that barrier allowed the glaciers to flow more freely. The second is that ice on the glaciers' surfaces has melted at a record rate in two of the past four years. "Some of that water," says Dowdeswell, "presumably percolates down through crevasses," lubricating the soft sediments at the base of the glaciers and allowing the huge ice floes to slip more quickly to the sea.

What's even more ominous than the speedup is the fact that it's spreading northward. Between 1996 and 2000, says Rignot, glaciers started accelerating, but only up to the 66th parallel. Over the next five years, the speedup moved north to the 70th. "If it spreads even further north," says Dowdeswell, "the implications are that much greater."

It isn't just the rise in sea level that makes the surprising news out of Greenland so disturbing. That is only one more hint that climate change may hinge on tipping points, where relatively small changes in temperature can suddenly cause disproportionately large effects. In Greenland, it's meltwater greasing the way for massive outflows of ice. In Antarctica, which has one ice sheet the size of Greenland's and another nearly 10 times as large, the same sort of leverage could eventually come into play, with even greater consequences. Yet another tipping point could come as ice sheets shrink and the polar caps start absorbing rather than reflecting energy from the sun.

In the North Atlantic, meanwhile, scientists have been warning for more than two decades about an influx of freshwater--not just from Greenland but also from melting icebergs and increasing mainland runoff. The resulting drop in salinity could change the density of surface water enough to prevent it from sinking as it cools and returning south to the tropics where it can replenish ocean currents like the Gulf Stream. And because the Gulf Stream is the only reason much of Western Europe has so mild and temperate a climate, such a shutdown of that conveyor belt of heat could be nothing short of catastrophic. Oceanographers reported late last year the ominous news that one element of that family of currents has slowed 30% since 1992. It's not clear yet that this is the beginning of the feared shutdown, but if so, it represents yet another tipping point.

And there could be many more that scientists haven't yet uncovered. "I worry every day about other surprises," says Oppenheimer. "It would be the height of arrogance to assume that there won't be--as these results prove." Sure, he says, some of the surprises may cut in our favor, but adds, "I'd hate to count on that. We have only one world to play with."

Simultaneous warming on Earth and Mars suggests that our planet's recent climate changes have a natural—and not a human-induced—cause, according to one scientist's controversial theory.

Earth is currently experiencing rapid warming, which the vast majority of climate scientists says is due to humans pumping huge amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. (Get an overview: "Global Warming Fast Facts".)


Mars, too, appears to be enjoying more mild and balmy temperatures.

In 2005 data from NASA's Mars Global Surveyor and Odyssey missions revealed that the carbon dioxide "ice caps" near Mars's south pole had been diminishing for three summers in a row.

Habibullo Abdussamatov, head of space research at St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Astronomical Observatory in Russia, says the Mars data is evidence that the current global warming on Earth is being caused by changes in the sun.

"The long-term increase in solar irradiance is heating both Earth and Mars," he said.

Solar Cycles

Abdussamatov believes that changes in the sun's heat output can account for almost all the climate changes we see on both planets.

Mars and Earth, for instance, have experienced periodic ice ages throughout their histories.

"Man-made greenhouse warming has made a small contribution to the warming seen on Earth in recent years, but it cannot compete with the increase in solar irradiance," Abdussamatov said.

By studying fluctuations in the warmth of the sun, Abdussamatov believes he can see a pattern that fits with the ups and downs in climate we see on Earth and Mars.

Abdussamatov's work, however, has not been well received by other climate scientists.

My crazy theory.
1) Money is only a tool & not real.
2) 100% correct you don't even know if they really end up with any money.
3) If there is Humanity & I say yes there is; because I know my self then Humanity has to be something which can be understood by the most simplest person even with a very low education.

All you need is you're parents to teach you morality & the basic moral commands.

How much human life can planet Earth sustain? It's a question scientists have been struggling with for hundreds of years. They have yet to agree on an answer. Thomas Malthus kicked off the debate in the early nineteenth century when he predicted imminent doom for the human race. He believed that the population of the earth was increasing at a geometric rate, while food production was increasing only at an arithmetic rate. Human population would soon outstrip their own ability to produce food, and there would be a catastrophe by the mid-nineteenth century. We're still here, so that obviously didn't happen. Technology allowed humans to produce far more food than Malthus anticipated. Even though Malthus was wrong, his ideas remain influential. The carrying capacity of the earth is a hotly contested subject. Many believe that we are at or near our capacity already. Others believe the earth can support far more people. It's far too complicated to truly determine what the real limit is. And even if we could, the "real" limit would be meaningless without proper context. The main context is lifestyle. Our planet can support many more people if we are living in near-starvation mode and consuming as little energy
as possible, than if we are all living at North American levels of consumption. Practical considerations also matter. If we were all living in starvation mode, would we be able to survive, or would we be at war with one another, killing each other off so we can eat more food? Distribution of resources has always been unequal, and continues to be an issue now and in the future. Ignoring these considerations, can we reach some sort of estimate? Important factors that determine how many people the earth can sustain include food, drinking water, and energy. Let's look at each of these areas in more detail. Food,The earth currently produces 2,264 million metric tons of cereals, which is the staple food of the world. If each person consumes 2,000 calories per day, 2,264 million metric tons of cereal will support a little bit over 10 billion people. Currently, around half of all arable land in the world is producing crops. If we clear-cut all the forests and jungles, we could double our theoretical food production. These calculations assume all we eat is cereal though. Most people want to eat more than just rice, bread and pasta. Vegetables and fruits are also produced on arable land. Most of this produces a higher calorie per area yield than cereals. But what about meat? Currently about one third of cereals produced in the world go towards feeding animals

This is already happening, and will continue to spread as population continues to increase. Water also affects food in a big way, as 70% of water used by humans irrigates crops. Energy ,This is another area where humans are already using up our resources. Right now, a large part of our energy comes from fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are a finite resource. Arguments abound over when they will run out. Some say that oil production has already peaked and is decreasing. Once oil runs out, natural gas and coal may also quickly be depleted as replacements for oil, and we will be left with nothing. In energy, it's not a question of how much life can be sustained. It's a question of when the life support will end. All of the above areas are subject to one major factor: technology. Throughout human history, technology has profoundly affected agriculture. Crop yields of today are far beyond what the first farmers would have dreamed of. Water technology, if it can unlock the secret of cheap and efficient desalination, will provide an almost unlimited source of water. And finally energy. The energy that reaches the earth from the sun is enough to power anything imaginable. Attempts to harness that energy include solar panels, wind turbines and bio-diesel. Once a technological solution has been reached, energy will no longer be a problem. So how many people can earth support? Nobody knows. Potentially many more billions than are here currently. An asteroid about the size of the one that levelled the forest in Tunguska, Siberia, a century ago flew past Earth on Monday - well within the Moon's orbit. The risk of a future impact with the object is not yet known.

The asteroid, dubbed 2009 DD45, whizzed just 72,000 kilometres above the Earth's surface. That is less than a fifth of the distance to the Moon and just twice the distance to geosynchronous satellites.

The object was first reported on Saturday by members of the Siding Spring Survey, a near-Earth object search programme based in Australia.

Based on its brightness, the asteroid seems to be between 20 and 50 metres across, says Timothy Spahr of the International Astronomical Union's Minor Planet Center. That rivals the size of the asteroid, estimated to be as small as 30 metres, that slammed into Tunguska, Siberia in 1908, creating a powerful blast that levelled 2000 square kilometres of forest.

Story here. The scary part of it is that we didn't see it coming more than two days out. The Siberian meteorite they refer to had a force of destruction somewhere between 20 and 50 megatons (biggest nuke we ever made was just under 20 MT, and was designed to dig almost a mile-wide crater and destroy everything above ground for a 10-mile RADIUS).

When you take this story together with how we didn't see the collision of the two satellites coming, either, it become obvious that we have far too little surveillance of space near our planet.

President Obama COULD give the USAF Space Command some $$$ to fix that lack, if he wasn't so busy giving the same money to folks who will not make such good use of it.

In the Beginning, there was God

In the beginning was this one source of light, the one presence, called
GOD. God, In His great joy and love, had a desire to create, to express
himself. From this undifferentiated state God created suns, moons,

was missing - companionship. God wanted to create self conscious beings
who could share His joy of creation. Out of the infinity of God came

We got caught in the density of matter and thought we were the animals or

In falling under the illusion that we were material instead of spiritual
in identity, began the downward spiral of creation. In this moment "ego"

illusionary belief in separation, fear, selfishness, and death.

illusion of matter continued at an alarming rate. Amilius (an incarnation
of Jesus) and other higher beings who had not fallen, knew that
something had to be done to help their fellow brothers and sisters, for
