A 24 minute made for TV cartoon based around the song (IMDB link (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0262711/)). It features lots of satanic hand signals as well as some other dodgy subliminals. Very blatant one this.

The storyline features a little boy named Jackie Draper who is scared of everything and no longer speaks. One day he gets the visit from our reptillian friend Puff who 'borrows' Jackie's 'living thing' (his soul) and puts it into a piece of paper whereby Jackie Draper becomes Jackie Paper. He then takes Jackie on a journey that Jackie cannot return from until he completes it. Of course the general storyline is positive with overcoming his fears with the help of Puff. The undertones however...

Very suspect positioning of Jackie. Puff's finger has changed to a more human flesh colour for no apparent reason and his chest face is back.

Yeah, this is totally uncool. I tried to dig up some info on the writers and producers, but didn't find anything too interesting, not anything other than Peter Yarrow being a little weird and that he tried to get it on with a 14 year old in '70.

But a 14 year old girl is hardly a little boy, and Yarrow is only responsible for half of the song, not the visuals.

There is more to this. The artists....something...

I just noticed the inverted pentagrams on Puff's bag.

I didn't mention that his finger is actually longer than normal too.

So, I'm looking at this picture to see if there's anything else symbolic, and I noticed three ducks. Immediately, I think duck rhymes with fuck, but ... nah that's a bit of a stretch so never mind....

The animator was Charles Swenson (according to the credits) and although there's not much information about him out there, I found this interesting tidbit...also by Charles Swenson:

http://www.globalfailure.com/images/Dirtyduck.jpg
"Wouldn't YOU Like a Good Duck tonight?"

Clearly a play on words.

"...an adult oriented oriented animated film directed by Charles Swenson..." - Down and Dirty Duck - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"...When Willard discovers that the duck is female, he has sex with her and quits his job the following morning...", "The film features a number of in-jokes." - Link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Down_and_Dirty_Duck#Plot)

In-Joke:
An in-joke or inside joke is a joke whose humor is clear only to those people who are "inside" a group that would allow them to have some prior knowledge (not known by the whole population) that makes the joke humorous. - Link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In-joke)

The Dirty Duck was released prior to Puff, and so I believe that adding the ducks to Jackie's bedroom was Swenson's little in-joke

Had it not been specifically for this image...

http://www.globalfailure.com/images/sicko.jpg

...I'd say the duck connection is a major stretch, but I think the pedophilia connotations are obvious.

Butterfly.

Demons/horned reptiles.

The premise: a reptilian creature visits a young boy in his bedroom, removes
his soul and puts it into a container. Then the boy's bed becomes a craft
that sails and flies (via butterfly wings) to a faraway, strange place full of
small diseased demons that have turned the place into a hellish landscape.

I find it interesting that this was released in 1978 because it was in the 80's
that the alien abduction phenomenon began to emerge.

Well the kids cartoons have probably some of the worst images in them to get these guys in make them okay. Start them young right? Make them a cartoon with a silly smile on their face and you are in. But, have you noticed that most cartoons have little kid characters in some other world where they are being controlled and led around by weird beings?

Nice one john, I find a bit of his stuff a bit scary ........ at first.

Good point here, I was recently visiting my daughter in hospital, I took a break and went for a coffee, I am deaf and could not hear the tv that was on about 15 meteres away but could see it, it was blue peter, the theme was global warming, and the characters included horned beasts, one eyed monsters, a couple of 'earth' children, that were being guided around the galaxy in a galleon type 'space' ship, in between the cartoon clips, they showed 'real' pics of london, being flooded, amongst other catastrophic earth crisis.

WTF?
