I'll just list movies you probably haven't seen.

1. The Fast Runner. 99% of the movie feels like a documentary about the Inuit people.

2. Solyaris. A Russian film.

Random recommendations:

1. Whale Rider. Made me cry until the end.

2. Sin city. A comic book movie with intelligence, style, and depth, unlike Spiderman or Batman.

3. Holy Mouintain. A surreal Spanish film that is really about attaining enlightenment. Complex and deep.

These movies can be found on mininova.

Eyes Wide Shut is excellent. Wonder what A.I. would have turned out like if he hadn't died.

Groundhog Day
Meaning of Life - Monty Python
Life of Brian - Monty Python

Awsome humour and parody. I would recommend Life of Brian and Meaning of Life to anyone.

Here are some words from a song in the Meaning of Life that always lifts my spiwits...:)

"Whenever life gets you down Mrs. Brown and things seem hard or tough and people are stupid, obnoxious or daft and you feel that you've had quite enough! just remember that your standing on a planet thats evolving revolving at nine-hundred miles an hour its orbiting at ninety miles a second so its reckoned a sun that is the source of all our power the sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see are moving at a million miles a day in an outer spiral arm at forty-thousand miles an hour of the galaxy we call the Milky Way Our galaxy itself contains a hundred billion stars its a hundred thousand lightyears side to side it bulges in the middle sixteen-thousand lightyears thick but out by us its just three-thousand lightyears wide were thirty-thousand lightyears from galatic central point we go round every two-hundred-million years and our galaxy is only one of millions of billions in this amazing and expanding universe.

[musical interlude]

The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding in all of the directions it can whiz as fast as it can go the speed of light you know twelve million miles a minute and thats the fastest speed there is so remember when your feeling very small and insecure how amazingly unlikely is your birth and pray that there intelligent life somewhere up in space cause theres bugger all down here on Earth".

:D

Cant remember the name of it at the mo but it's that movie with John Travolta who's a small town mechanic that sees a white light on his birthday. Its called Para...something.
Great movie. One of my favorites.

And an all time classic "enermy of the state".

And the best cult classic movie has to be "The Brandon Cory Story". Absolutely brilliant.

1. Dark city - awesome sci-fi , didnt get the credit it deserved, basically matrix stole the idea.Better than matrix in my opinion as a film aswell.
2.See no evil hear no evil - Proper funny.

saw a couple cable movies recently i hadn't heard of.

"it's all about love" - about end time scenarios; global cooling, people levitating off the earth out into space, somebody gets angry, then drops dead in their tracks, cloning.

"the fever"- about global poverty and consumerism, how we are all on some level corrupted by participating in the system.

recent movies that come to mind:

"children of men"

"the tv set"- in theaters now, very funny. sigourney weaver is bitchin'! :D

"breach"- the opus dei connection is so obvious.

If you like Dark City, you'll like The 13th Floor and City of Lost Children. (French film)

Just watched 9th Gate. That movie was made to perfection! Although the secret society stuff was a bit off, probably intentionally.
