What does everyone think of the research turned up by Alexander Cornswalled about the Pokemon card game (http://www.cornswalled.com/2007/03/true-history-of-pokemon.html)?

http://www.cornswalled.com/2007/03/true-history-of-pokemon.html

According to Cornswalled, the Pokemon game is based on the wars fought between Northern Italian deities (http://www.cornswalled.com/2007/03/true-history-of-pokemon.html#The%20Word) whose worship wasn't displaced until Constantine converted. He gives a history of how persecution drove the cult to Japan and even goes on to discuss the role of Pokemon in the New World Order (http://www.cornswalled.com/2007/03/true-history-of-pokemon.html#Pokemon%20and%20the%20New%20World)!

Well, I never claimed I believed it. Personally, I think Cornswalled is a loony toon. Like "Forbidden Archeology" he's good for a laugh though.

It's bullshit.

The pokemon card game is harmless fun. I know. I've played it.

That's just the mainstream view. Why do you so readily dismiss a maverick researcher just because his conclusions disagree with the "official" story? :)

I got as far as the message to true Christians and I recalled the furore about the Devil's music and Elvis's hip swivelling corrupting the young etc. :p

Just as Marijuana is often a "Gateway Drug" leading children to harder substances, so is Pokemon a Gateway paganism, leading children into, at best Agnosticism and at worst Satanism.

Still using the same old, empty argument. "It's the devil!".

Knowing how Nintendo franchises such as Mario and Zelda has lots of occult symbolism in them, this could have been an interesting read. Dissapointed to see it's just another christian rambling about absolutely nothing. His mention of Pat Robetson as a credible source sure doesn't help.

I laud the guy's imagination. At least the basic idea is funny, I don't have time now to read properly all his evidence.

I prefer not to think he's serious.

What about Yu-gi-oh? It's full of Egyptian symbolism I've heard.

My search of Pikat-shoo also turns of nothing much either. I was directed to this forum. I didn't know this was already discussed here. Is it so hard for authors to source their "facts"?

There is no such thing as the "cult of Pokos" or any mention anywhere of a God named "Pokos", and when he goes "also known as Pikat-shoo" and talks about his powerful lightning based attacks, I wonder how anyone can take it seriously, clearly satire.

A pity this man is sullying the name of Our One True Lord Jesus Christ, this is exactly the type of nonsense Satan wants to spread, to ruin the reputation of Our Lord.

have done a tiny bit of research but not fully into northern italian mythology and came up with etruscan(northern italian) mythological figures and they do appear to have something to do with rome will look into further have not read the pokemon report yet (almost feel stupid) but thru other research in other occult and satanic areas would not dismiss anything no matter how bizarre especially to do with entertainment and children never say never

I haven't read the link yet but before people start going "this is crazy.." etc, remember, this is the David Icke site not Sceptics weekly! It could be a load of bollocks but remember, a lot of companies are involved in the occult. I'm not saying all of them will be fully involved but they will know why they had certain logo's designed etc. Also look at Nintendo, it is full of symbolism.

Does that mean we should act irrationally? No, my son who is 8 has a game cube & ds & he loves pokemon etc. but it is good to know where these companies are coming from.
