I've been going through a lot in the past few days involving Public education. It started on Wednesday when they're was interhouse football. I never took part, I refused to since everytime we lost I would be picked on by the ignorant idiots in my class. The teacher as usual did nothing to stop it. So I went home told my mother that I refuse to go anywhere near that Brainwashing centre because I'm being bullied and I don't go to school to learn, I go to school and am told what is right and what is wrong and my opinion means nothing.
What do you think the average brainwashed parent would say?: "But you MUST go to school". So It's now Thursday, I've walked out the door and instead of going to school, I've gone to my Nan and Grandad's house, where at least I can be understood. My Grandad phoned up the Education authorities. They say the regular crap like "Sorry you need a report from the school" and "There is nothing we can do". So my Grandad said "Fine he'll be better off being home schooled then". So, now I'll probably be getting home schooled. And I feel happier than ever. I hope other people begin to home school they're children and stop the horror that is Public Education.

G'day freedomiswithinyou, you're expressing the freedom within you :D Cool!
I had an idea a while ago for neighbourhood 'schooling'. What if people in their neirghbourhoods got togethor and home schooled. Small groups could help each other out, with different parents teaching each week or month and even have more than one parent teaching at the same time. It would be the same as home schooling but having small groups instead of singly at home.
People could devise their own curriculums based on where they live and who was in the group. It would make for much more varied interpretations of history and stuff. The whole system wouldn't be centralised and homogenised and it wouldn't really be a system anyway. It's just a bunch of people living nearby who are sick of the system getting together and helping each other out.

It's basically just home schooling except in a group, parents helping each other out... like car pooling :D
Children would get more attention, they would be in homey environments not schools, they could still join sporting and art groups and stuff to socialise with larger groups of children... it would bring communities closer together, parents and children would have a better understanding of each other, it removes the authoritarian stranger from their young lives (let's face it, school is where children are first taught to 'behave' in a system).
Parents would make new friends, they could share tips with other groups from other areas and best of all people will be learning and interpreting stuff without the state board looking over their shoulders every five miutes... no more need for parent teacher interviews.
And in the US your children wouldn't be exposed to predatory military recruiters.

G'day Freedomiswithinyou.
School is a prison that the young humans get sent to, and like any other prison, it sucks. The public education system is a tool to indoctrinate the population and has almost no relevence on how to live life.
It's great that you can get home schooled and your grandparents sound cool.

Definitely I agree with ya. I loathe Public Education, I wished I had home-schooling. Because the system is so so I don't know, messed up! Most of the textbooks are politically-correct and rewritten, expect some of the selected novels. But, hell all I see is hypnotic ignorant students walking everyday in most US schools. And people call home-schooling for young children who lack communication skills, yeah the fucking right.

Every day, school feels more like a prison to me.
