See this great open letter to parents about taking tots to see
horrific horror movies. In this case the movie is Hostel: Part II,
a horror-porn flick from executive producer Quentin Tarantino.

Anything this director does is guaranteed to shock anyone other than the desenticised. watching alot of horror can make you immune to the emotions it invokes. But some of us can be come oversenticised after a while, making it almost if not impossible to watch this kind of crap which glamourises violence etc and trys to make it the normal regular kind of film.

Written by Anthony Burch

Dear Dad With a Doo Rag and Mother With a Halter Top and a Belly Piercing,

You may or may not recognize me: I was present at the same screening of Hostel: Part II that you and your family attended last night. I send you this letter in the hopes that you will forward it to all those who share a similar parenting style as you, in the hopes that my request be heard by as many pairs of ears as humanly possible.

I wish to address you concerning a matter of seemingly-negligible importance. Many people – including, I am sure, the both of you – might consider my complaint unnecessary, or simply selfish. Yet in the interest of decency and for the sake of your offspring, I must humbly make one simple suggestion, which you are free to take heed to or ignore at your leisure. The suggestion is this:

Stop bringing your fucking kids to horror movies.

Nice one graflok, for bringing this up, some xlnt advice given in the whole article, everybody read it all if you havent.

EDIT: to remove extra end quote command

Thats disgusting. It doesn't matter how old the kids are they still understand. I remember when I was less than 2 and I saw an operation on the telly, I was really disturbed by it.

Have you noticed that 15 films are getting more and more violent? Cube 3 was a 15 and I can't imagine watching that at 15.

Thats different to me .
I saw operations on the telly and was really intriuged by it.
It got me into anatomy and psysiology
and eventually led me into a short lived career as a diagnostic radiographer,
As a child i was fascinated by the human skeleton'
And learned all the bones and joints for fun,
for me the mechanism of the human body was/is a brilliant
subject to study

I find that German chap Gunter Summat compulsive viewing,
Though he comes across a bit macarbe
the dissection and discipline he has learnt is
second to none

i'm glad my fear if violent imagery amused you tin, next week, my reactions to roadkill. :p:p:p

but on a serious note, there is a reason that there are age restrictions on movies, i mean i'm almost 30 and from time to time i'll watch some horror movie (i love my cheesy horror and sci-fi) late at night, and when i switch it off i'm jumping at my own shadow, now imagine what that must be like for kids? my girlfriend says all clowns are evil after sneaking into the living room late one night as a child to watch stephen king's It.

My husband is terrified of clowns. I told him that I thought he should have outgrown that by now, but finally yesterday after all these years he explained what it was that scared him.

He said that he can't "read" them when they have all that stuff on their faces. Prolly why he doesn't care for too much make up either. LOL.
