The Obama administration has made a big deal about renewable energy. Over the next several years, the new President has plans to spend roughly $150 billion promoting and enabling its growth. And with $700 billion flowing from the United States into OPEC's pockets every year, I don't think you'll get much of an argument from anyone about the timeliness or the need for renewables.

But even with massive amounts of capital investment – and widespread adoption by utilities and end users – renewable energy will still only account for roughly 10% of world energy output by 2030, an increase of only three percentage points from today's estimated 7% contribution. Depending on whom you talk to, however, that estimate is wildly optimistic.

The stark reality of worldwide energy production is a dirty, four-letter word: coal. Since the beginning of the 21st century, its worldwide consumption has outpaced any other fuel source, growing nearly 5% per year. This, too, in the face of prices that have escalated every year since 2000.

Consider 97% of that growth has occurred in emerging market countries, most notably China and India.

It is claimed by some sources that Tesla channeled much of the stuff, since he imagined it and most of the creation of something before making it. Saving him lots of time testing theories and such. He said he pictured it and did the tests in his head before going straight to the final phases.

One thing is sure, he was quite ahead of his time. It took years for the people who used his inventions to understand them. I think it was only after his death he was recognised as the inventor of the radio. The person who claimed that title before him was too close to Telsas original design to keep the title.

Most of what i have read about Tesla was online . He was very ill as a child and during this time it was then he started to gain insight and receive messages about his work . Later on i read that he sent radio waves into space and also received radio waves back .An internet search may bring some further insight into this . :D

I think history records after splitting with Edison, Nikola Tesla beat Edison in the much publicised ac/dc battle standard's war and went on to build the first ac power generation station at the Niagra Falls for Westinghouse.
