I posted this earlier, under title 'Write to Amnesty UK'.
Just thought - that title might be a bit misleading. Just to headline what I wrote before - Amnesty UK are refusing to 'take a position' on compulsory ID cards, which I feel is really ironic, and more than a little suspicious.
Maybe if more of us write to them asking for a reason, they'd have to at least consider re-considering their 'position'. Considering the fact that, if ID cards happen, those refusing them could well become prisoners of conscience, or at least be fined ludicrous amounts, it seems like something Amnesty would be highlighting, instead of this silence, and deliberate blind eye.
