Series premiere of the television adaptation 'The Diary of Anne Frank' on BBC today (the 'Diary' also inspired a play in 1955) - Footage shows a young british school girl brandishing a copy of the book while speaking against anti-semitism. (5/01)

the presenter later announces 501 people killed in GAZA so far.

then switching to UK channel 5 the inauguration of a 592 million dollar Us embassy in Irak is symbolically shown.

Later ... a recycling centre in Essex caught on fire in the early morning today (was that around 5am :confused:) . The presenter then says it took 5 hours for firemen to put the fire in control but it is still burning.

'This is 5th warmest winter on record' announced on ITN news tonight as footage concentrates on icy, cold and frosty UK today

I thought 21/01/09 was interesting as it adds up to 13 and it's the day Mr Obama takes the US presidency.

Make it a full year (ie:21/01/2009) and it adds to 15 which of course is a multiple of 3, - well, 5 3's .

Oh look, another interesting 5!

Numbers rock, but the amount of 33's I am receiving at the moment is doing my head in! :mad:

A painting by Titian has sparked a political row after the Scottish Government confirmed it had pledged a "significant sum" towards its purchase.

It followed newspaper reports that the government was contributing £17.5m towards acquiring the work of art.

The National Gallery of Scotland and London's National Gallery are hoping to raise £50m to buy Diana and Actaeon.

Cloud hangs over Macworld opening

More than 50,000 people are expected at the Macworld show this week for the final year that Apple will take part (final year WHY?? do they know something about the state of the economy or world politics which we don't :confused:).
