If there were a webcam in the Monkey House at the local zoo, would you watch it?

Then, why watch TV or go to the movies? Why cruise the Internet or listen to most music? It's the same thing: the chest pounding, screeching, defecating and copulating of monkeys. Of course humans outdo monkeys with mindless killing and mayhem.

If not a Monkey House, then the world increasingly resembles a hive which, thanks to the mass media, vibrates at the same frequency. For example, when the stock market is plummeting, everyone is panicking. (When Money is God, an economic downturn becomes a spiritual crisis.)

But there are other causes for the gloom: the spreading knowledge that our institutions (government, media, education, religion etc.) have been subverted and society now has no way of self-correcting.

The world feels like a roller coaster and we are holding on for dear life. Perhaps we need to let go. Perhaps we need to vibrate at our own unique frequency.

Perhaps I would be more effective if I devoted more energy to my private life. The external world is negating my private world even though it hasn't physically impinged on it yet. I have impoverished myself by my constant focus on the Monkey House. I don't think I am alone in this.

Our minds are like blotters, hoping to find a reflection of our ideals in the world. We need to turn the mirror around so the back faces the world. We need to use our personal lives (not the world) to reflect our ideals.

I envy people who can make God, Jesus or Mohamed the focus of all their thoughts. I often resolve to read the lives and saying of mystics. Clearly I need another focus. Family. Sports. A hobby. I'd like to hear from readers about how they have changed their focus.

TIME OUT

Feeling fatigued recently, I resolved to unplug the world for 24 hours. I would be a Robinson Crusoe of the soul. I put on a Gregorian chant and tried to meditate. It's all about where we direct our attention minute-by-minute. I would focus on God. Order. Peace. Truth. Sanity. A calm came over me.

At the same time, I had to resist temptations which made me realize how addicted I am to my computer terminal. From that monitor l try to satisfy all my greed and desire. Down that chute come the corn niblets of encouraging news, email, book sales, stock quotes etc. I have to agree with the yogis who say suffering is due to seeking happiness outside ourselves.

Yet that's all we do: manipulate the world to make us feel good. When will we realize we cannot feel good unless we are good?

How we hate to be alone. That's why we are constantly talking on cell phones or watching TV. Why do we self-evade? As Paul Elmer More said, "we exhaust a great effort and expense to be poorly entertained." Let us enjoy our selves.

After about four hours of meditating, I felt quite detached and refreshed, and started getting bored. So I broke down and checked my e-mail and the latest headlines on Rense. (I want to be in the world but not of it. I don't want to be stranded in a limbo between two worlds.)

CONCLUSION

If we are engaged in a spiritual war, perhaps detaching from the world for set periods of time is the way to fight it. They seem to want to keep us in a state of high anxiety. They have been promising to invade Iran for six years. Is this the real agenda -- to keep us at the edge of our seats?

I'm going to continue to fight the good fight. But maybe we can partially win if we don't let the enemy into our home and heart.

its difficult to discern sometimes what to occupy your time with

are you wasting it? ... is your energy being wasted?

in the movie half baked... the guy says "focus"

we need to 'focus' but on what?

...it is easy to learn what to focus on once you train yourself and your eye and your mind to be honed in on the TRUTH -

once you stay and stick with the truth - simple truth - ...you can cut through all the mumbo jumbo

but the mumbo jumbo speaks for itself to

... trouble is.. not getting tangled up in it

train the body? yes.. be physically fit? ... that's a good thing.. (less times going to the toilet.. the more time you have to contribute)

we got to clean ourselves of the waste.. -once we do that.. talents resurface you thought you lost. like memory - and thinking etc

the sight of the mind is able to put the puzzle pieces together more easily

and the bigger picture grows

the knowledge falls into place and a wisdom is gained of which otherwise would not be possible without having seen through fog

it is EASY to get caught up in the CHAOS .. Sooo easy... infact..


I was TOTALLY disillusioned by it all for so many years..and aloof but I knew something was up and there was a deeper truth to what was being presented, so I never gave in or totally given up

but I didn't know how to sift through it. I was dizzy by its FAST TRAMPLING 'temptations' 'lies' 'disguises' and commercialism

--- but after having trained myself recently to.. bridal my entire body.. this may be via.. controlling food intake or small things of such that you have the power over to control in your own life -like getting ride of 'habits' then you can be ahead of the game. I see things coming. I'm actually faster now and more sharp and getting faster every day

once you do that.. you got a ground foundation of guiltless ball park to get your game on in

everyone's got game, or talents and gifts to share with the world


and I agree totally with your aspect of the self being the starting point

if you don't know yourself.. or have your own house in order.. what good effect are you going to have on the world?

it would be like fighting fire with fire ... or .. trying to mop up water with water

each one of us has their own puzzle piece to the big picture .. and granted.. each one of us is already whole in the singularity of our individual lives - it would be profound if on the ground we were aloud to be ourselves

to bad people didn't respect that.. but then again.. they don't respect themselves

people are over stepping the line and trying to define what they see without having first discovered themselves which they lost when they tossed their dignity for the sake of being apart of a TEAM - ie GROUP THINK - trying to get a medal or trophy for pleasing discontented people

so there goes the mind

no wonder why no one cant think, it has spread like a virus

infected and injected under the skin, even in the man made 'cures' for their constant focus on the problem's results which originated from a source which is not the victim of the outcome

lately I have been drawing in PAINT on the computer.. you know that little paint brush program..

and I have been drawing out my thoughts and ideas and .. 'how i see it'

like a 2 year old kid would do...

what i have discovered and uncovered in the thoughts of the wisdom gained by using MY OWN BRAIN --- has been very fruitful -

I think EVERYONE could offer their own .. individual unique original perspective on situations that would serve the greater good than how THE SYSTEM currently has us GROUPED TOGETHER now for the sake of 'collectivism'

its such a shame

its why we are here where we are today

and ALL OF IT could go away TOMORROW if people would repent turn around and wake up to the thing they reclassify as "christ consciousness" but should be respected as christ himself in his bloom here on the ground when he taught us of a higher perspective which focused on his father in heaven where the real power is god almighty the ONE source of life itself in the creation through the word which spiritually delivered us into existence through love from above

I know what you mean by "re-classify as Christ Consciousness"...thing is, would the other faiths/religions appreciate such a consciousness...!? More importantly, would it do justice for the purpose of Truth...hmm, I'm not sure it would...!?

Even now, while reading this post, there will be people who would hope that a "Christ Consciousness" come's about...simply, so they can carry on believing what they want to believe...know what I mean...!? With Truth, such a "get-out clause" is not possible, whether you're Christian, Muslim, Jewish or whatever...

So, unfortunately...as much as I'd like to let you have it your way...Truth, thankfully, is the Only Way...for all human beings, regardless of gender, race, creed, nationality or whatever division there is...absolutely all of it has to pass through the Truth Dimension...!! Yes... TV is there to keep us "dreaming". Internet is there to keep us "informed" and "busy". We should dream other peoples dreams, we should live other peoples lives, we should be informed by news they are presenting us, we should be kept busy, we should be kept entertained.

"Why?", you ask.

So that we can't see how mediocre and boring our lives are, not to see how we are depraved we are.

We should disconnect. I should... definetly, i should. But both things are sooo adicted. F**king TV and Internet, especially online games.
