Today we held the first protest march in Totnes against the Israeli aggression in Gaza. There was a reasonable turnout considering we are a small Devon town.

The march will be held again every day this week. We meet at The Plains at the bottom of Totnes at 5.00pm and then walk up the hill to the Civic Square, where we light candles, hold hands in a circle round a tree and the usual Totnes hippy type things, then we walk on through The Narrows and then take the bypass down to the KEVICs bridge and then along the main road back to The Plains.

If you live in South Devon, please make an effort to come at least once. If you live further away, then organise one in your town, if there isn't already.

Here is a pic, it's crappy quality from my mobile phone, will try to remember my digital camera for tomorrow.

Thank you.

Was that Tai Chi with Steve Hopwood?

btw - Totness is in Suriname, Totnes is in Devon, unlike many other place names in the South West of England, there are no other places in the world with the same name, only Totness with two S's in Suriname (EDIT: and now I see South Australia). Strange as there are loads of places called Dartmouth or Plymouth or Exeter in the USA and Canada.

No that wasn't Steve Hopwood then, he used to do them in the Mansion House, but then stopped when he got so involved in the 9/11 truth campaign.

Could have been one of many, as one thing we are not short of is alternative practitioners or teachers or healers, we even have underwater naked yoga classes at the local swimming pool and I believe the ancient practice of yogurt weaving originally came from Totnes.

In today's local newspaper about the vigil we held on Saturday, the press also came to today's rally.

We held the march in Totnes again tonight (Tuesday) to protest at the bloodshed in Gaza.

We will be there again tomorrow, please come along if you can, and if not, make sure you are there on Friday as we want this to be the big one!

Forgot to take me digi cam once more, so here's another crappy mobile pic.

Well done Hemp.

What was the reaction of the locals?

It just shows, we should be demonstrating in every town in the land. We don't have to just go to the big cities to show our disgust with Israel.
