Have you ever known a Freemason?
My ex Girlfriend's Uncle was a freemason for many years.

I used to wokr with one, he was a total twat. He was really thick too, I showed him an icke book and tried to draw him into conversation bout it but he was bloody dumb, no nice way of saying it.
He told me that they would toast the queen, they would just say " the queen" that was all the secrets I got out of him, think I threw him with some stuff I said, actually im sure I said to him the queens a lizard and he agreed, cant remember, but he was very dim.
My mate was saying hes noticed how you do get some masons who are lacking in the brain department, we were saying maybe they use the thick ones in their rituals.

Yea I was in the process of buying the fast food restaurant I was working in and i got a guy to do a valuation of the business. My boss said the guy tried to give him a secret handshake when the met to discuss the value of the business.

Well, now you all know a Freemason who is quite happy to answer your questions.
This daft mantra "... not a secret society but a society with secrets ..." is tosh dreamed up by some, probably very expensive, advertising agent. Do not believe him. He is either a very gullible person, or merely repeating a meaningless phrase because he is either not intelligent enough, or too lazy to take the time to explain Freemasonry to you.

Yes, I can think of one friend in particular. He and I don't discuss it often but we're both aware that the still waters of the other person run deep; he also has another role to play and ultimately we will war to the death when the time comes but for the present we have one another's backs.

Well I am happy to be anyone's Uncle here, and answer questions that I am able and free so to do. If I can't answer you I will tell you why.

I've known a few over the years both through work and a family member. Can't really compare as they were from all different walks of life. Actually I probably still work with quite a few of them now in my current job tbh. I tend to take people as I find them though and try not to put them in a particular box.

I don't really have any questions that I can think of, else I would have asked him. He's actually a very close friend. For the foreseeable future we will have one another's backs but when the shtf he knows I'll have to plunge a sword into his chest (for his other allegiance) :p

My partner is a Freemason.
Before we got together 7 years ago I knew absolutely nothing about them. Our 1st date was when he invited me as his guest for ladies night. Everybody was very friendly and all the 'ladies' made me very welcome. I have been to every Ladies night since at both lodges my partner is involved with.
When he was master at one of the lodges 3 years ago, I was involved in arranging the ladies night and got to know many of the masons very well. I have made good friends within the Masonic circle.
However, I live life with my eyes open and believe that all knowledge gives us the power to form a 'responsible' and detailed opinion of something, and this includes Freemasonary.
I know masons from 3rd degree to above 33rd degree and I observe and form my own opinion. I ahve no doubt that there are 'good and bad' in all 'groups/societies' and that would include Freemasonary. I have found that 99% of the ones I know have no idea if/how/where anything 'bad' is happening within the masonic world. These masons enjoy the comradship of being a mason and work hard to raise monies for their local charities. This does not mean I don't believe that elsewhere there maybe others that are abusing the word freemason.
I have concluded that the world is full of freeminded people and masons are included. We should be aware of this and act accodingly. Bot jump to conclusions just because we have labeled them a Mason.

Excellent post Belladonna, my own feelings entirely. I have never - in 23 years - found anything 'bad' going on. :):)
