I would like to buy(or obtain) some land , build a commune that like minded people could live together, based on self suffiency, people could drop in or live there dependant on circumstance , people could offer whatever they do in order that the whole community could thrive

any body up for it?

I was thinking the whole thing could be done before 2012, maby northwest Scotland , I go up there every now and again and have a place in mind, but im open to suggestion?

how to buy?

maby a consortium , a generous donator , charity ,if the innention is there to create It could be pulled off

any suggestions or ideas:)

I'd hate the idea of being surrounded by like minded people. Diversity is the spice of life.

WOW, FANTASTIC IDEA !! I have also been thinking along those lines..am so pleased I am not the only one with these thoughts !!! I would definately be interested. WELL DONE FOR SUGGESTING THIS !!....:)

Scotland is a good place, they already have a wonderful community up there...Findhorn...(though have never been there myself, to date.)

Self sufficiency is the key, I truly believe we are meant to live in a self sufficient lifestyle, that is also why I love the raw vegan lifestyle, that is all about being at one with nature.

Lets hope there is more interest !!! Let me know how things progress.

Cheerz

I was only rattling on to my daughter yesterday about that very thing. I believe we have to go back to a more simple life, working on the land and not striving after money and 'stuff'. I, for one, would be up for such an enterprise. I always dreamed of building, furnishing and kitting out a home completely from scratch....including weaving rugs/fabrics etc.

However, it would need to be set up mindful of the fact that 'power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely'.....and I guess someone would always want to take charge and who knows, five thousand years later we might find ourselves in a similar predicament to the one we are all facing today!

I grow many of my own veg and am pursuing the 'Freeman on the land' route already. Chickens next....

'The system' promised humanity so much - but all along it was only a trap - and I know that we have lots of things that are advantageous but the bottom line is that someone wants to 'rule the world' and it's not with our best interests at heart.

Perhaps we need to set up thread like the 'Freeman' thread to discuss our ideas.

I'll put some thoughts together.

Good move for posting your thoughts - funny I was in that thought mode yesterday.....cue Twilight Zone music lol!

Its been something I have been thinking about for a while,

I like the idea of a mixture of people living their full time, people living there parts of the year, and people comming for retreats etc,

I believe if you want to make something happen it will, so lets get the ball rolling:)

How like minded are any two people? even if we share common aims or ideals we will always have diverse ideas , aims and goals so it can work .The main thing about this type of communal lifestyle is to learn the old skills again , growing your own food ,traditional crafts etc . Having a place to do this is just the start , other communities could grow from this and branch out so eventually more and more people would of learned to be self sufficient and have a network in place to trade and share .
Check out this place in Portugal , friends of mine moved there and set this place up a few years ago .Shows it is do-able :D

Id love to get involved in anyway I can. Im sick of city life and want out. I grew up in the countryside and I want to go back. Ive been looking at ways I can get out of the city and I had a few opportunities that through no fault of my own, slipped through my fingers, much to my dismay.
Count me in.
What can I do to help?

The thought sounds good:) its cold in scotland though:o and i believe the climate is getting colder now quite rapidly?? but i do like Scotland.
I too have been looking into the freeman philosophy, but its very complex and a lot of it just goes above my head:o its like taking a frikin law degree

Indeed, lets....thinking caps on.

What an exciting prospect - just what one needs for the first day of a new year - even though I know it's only nature's resting period in the natural cycle of growth (tbtG - thanks be to God - does a belief in a Creator of the Universe and everything in it preclude me from participating lol?? - it's an unpopular mindset to have....). I wouldn't ever try to convert anyone, that's a very personal journey.

It IS complex but if I can wade through and 'get it' - anyone can, seriously.

Watch the Winston Shrout Kelowna presentations and the AntiTerrorist videos, along with Robert Arthur Menard videos too and other 'Freeman' videos and you'll soon see through the scam.

Begin with the Occult World of Commerce with Jordan Maxwell and the lovely Jason (can't remember his second name) but swooooon he's delicious (snap out of it - I'm in my mid 50's for goodness sake lol!).

It really is despicable what 'they' have done to humanity for their own gain - clever but completely evil.

I'm hoping that once I really 'get' the Freeman route I'll be able to help others.

im going to visit a friend who has set up a retreat, in the north of scotland..its so beautiful, and the land laws shall we say are maby a bit more flexible if you know the right people, so ill interagate her;)

good thing about scotland ..its small, so its never that far from civillisation
but im open to anywhere as long as its in a nice energetic setting in the country

I think its a good idea to look at other models and see how they have worked it..throw some ideas around

and then see if we can take it to the next stage , of organising ourselves

this subject has been on my mind a lot recently too...and i guess a lot of people are thinking about it as well...people have become so far removed from 'the land' and too caught up in technology...a back to basics philosophy is what humanity needs in my opinion but i am usually wrong in these matters :)

This link is for a video showing some of what they do in portugal on their land ? they seem to be updating their site so cant access it at the moment :D

About 48 minutes in a guy shows how it took 1 month for 10 people to build a house 600 meters square ? thats minus a roof , but shows what can be achieved when people work together .

I have been thinking the same thing. And in order to be completely off grid you might want to look at these....

I would be interested in this, but how do you decide who becomes part of it?
Is it only the ones who can afford to buy a chunk of land? Them and us, always been thus.
I like to start a food co-op or something along those lines.
