It reminds me of when I worked for Wang Computers in the 1980's. They wanted a name for their new Customer Care department. Kids have been around as long as humans have been, well that is an obvious statement, but we never needed chips before. My parents kept me by their side with a good smacking if I wondered off, I learned pretty quick. And they also used to scare me with the story of Walsh's kid who was kidnapped and cut to pieces.

The idea is that they sell us on things that we don't need out of fear. Remember ten fifteen years ago or so when those child "leashes" became popular. When was it ok to stop watching your kid and start putting them on a leash. How much money was made by that company through the unwarrented but natural fears of parents.

But i still think the chip would be a peace of mind for a 16 year old girl who gets grabed off the street as she walked to the mall!!. All what about all the Missing people that just cant be found.
