I Am Legend is a classic science fiction novel. While this adaptation certainly doesn't look incredible, it's hardly another "end of the world movie".

I've been wanting to read this book, as the conspiracy stuff is getting tired. I'm wondering if there is any relevence to Reptilians and such, as the Vampire idea came directly or indirectly from them.

BTW, I wonder if Reptilians really don't like garlic. Then again, that could be the fiction part.

Vampires never had an aversion to garlic traditionally. The idea was that "vampires", due to being locked in the R-Complex, were obsessive compulsive. To prevent a vampire from entering your house, you would spread garlic cloves on the doors and windows. The vampire could not resist stopping to count them, soon daylight would come.

Count Dracula? :D

I'd say it qualifies as an end of the world movie, judging by the trailer, at least:

"In five years ... mankind's struggle for survival will be lost"

"The Last man on Earth ... is not alone"

I haven't read the original story but the old Charlton Heston movie "The
Omega Man" was an earlier film based on "I Am Legend" and I have seen
that. It's a post-apocalyptic tale and qualifies, in my book, as an end of
the world movie. The human race is reduced to a few survivors fighting
diseased mutant-humans. Major cities have become ghost-towns, etc.

There are other movies with similar themes coming soon, for example,
"2012: The War for Souls," "When Worlds Collide," "Doomsday," "Terminator 4,"
"The Visiting," "Resident Evil:Extinction," etc.

They all appear to deal with human cataclysmic doom in one form or another.

That's the reason for my post. To note a trend in Hollywood movies, a major
player in the mind-control machine.

However, I don't doubt that "I Am Legend" is a wonderful classic work of
brain-washing, er -- science fiction -- and I wouldn't think of suggesting
otherwise. :)
