India sets Dec 26 deadline for Pakistan
NEW DELHI: India has given a deadline of December 26 to Pakistan for crackdown on people involved in Mumbai terror plot, said a report.

Stratfor, the publisher of geopolitical intelligence on Tuesday, in its report says after Mumbai attacks, India relayed a message to Pakistan via the US that they would be given “30 days to carry out significant actions in cracking down on militant groups operating on Pakistani soil”.

Islamabad has been denying that they were from Pakistan.

The US made clear to Pakistan that Islamabad will have to deliver on India's demands or else Washington will not be able to stand in New Delhi's way, it said.

The report said India using time to prepare its military forces, and waiting when the time comes to act.

However, the report said, it is still unclear how far India will take this military campaign and to what extent the US operations in Afghanistan will be affected.

The intelligence publisher reported that the US, knowing its “limitations” of the relationship with New Delhi, is already preparing for “a worst-case scenario”.

what do punjabis have to do with this? india has a multitude of ethnic/cultural/religious/regional groups.. punjabis are just one of them; a war would affect the whole nation, not just the punjabi sect.

anyway, i've been tracking the events post the terror attack, and the common misconception is that india will strike pakistan first.

if i can say anything with utmost certainty, it is that the indian pm, does NOT under any circumstance, want a war with pakistan. on the other hand, the opposition party or coalition in india- the BJP/NDA seems to be raking up every excuse to attack pak. imo, it is this opposition force that set up these so called attacks in the first place.

for the past few weeks, pakistan has been leaking reports that their forces are well prepared for war, and that they 'will strike in mere minutes' if india takes the first step (also mentioning their 'nuclear capability'). the pak army general ashfaq kiyani has made statements that can only be seen as instigation for a war to take place.

one theory popping up is that pak wants a war with india because they want to divert troops away from the pak-afghan border, where they've been coerced to 'help' the 'peacekeeping' u.s forces in afghanistan. the fact that u.s. also seems to be wary about an impending war suggests that they probably know pak wants to quit helping the coalition forces in afghanistan- and that if pak send its troops to fight against india, then there would be no puppets on the pak-afghan border.

there are rogue elements everywhere- in india and pakistan- but most of all, in the ptb. they're the ones who have helped, and funded the attacks in bombay.

I was thinking that since Mumbai has been called India's 9/11, it may be a warplan used to appear wreckless. In such a conflict between India and Pakistan there may be a stage to involve the U.S. in Afghanistan. They have next week as well. So don't anticipate anything today or tomorrow. Something may happen but they do have time. It's very likely that Obama will not get the transition.
