View Full Version : An Idea To Fix the Auto Industry

I had an idea for the Detroit manufacturers that I know will never be implemented, however, I will share it with you all just to see what the "public" would think.

For whatever reason the U.S auto manufacturers did not keep up with the superior technology that the imported cars brought to the table; this is obviously the fault of hundreds of high ranking people. Furthermore, the U.S manufactures decided to make huge gas chugging cars despite the fact that the trend/necessity was going towards smaller and more fuel efficient vehicles.

Anyway, I know there is more to the story and they haven't told us everything but I feel that one way to solve the issue is to cut back significantly the amount of models that the Detroit manufactures produce.

For instance, the Corvette (great car) will always be the flagship of Chevy as well as a few trucks. Mustang (good car if v8) will always be the flagship of Ford as well as a few of there trucks. Chrysler, for the most part, has more models that people want then Ford and Chevy right now. Besides these few models, as far as I can tell, when I look in the streets, people are driving foreign cars!

So do you all see what I'm saying? Just cut the company down to the iconic cars that we know Americans (if this is still America) as well as the rest of the world will still buy. Why not? Ferrari and other high end company's do the same, they make a small amount of high quality cars and they always seem to be in demand; as a matter of fact, they haven't been hurting at all from this "staged" economic meltdown.

This hole idea for the U.S taxpayers to keep the U.S auto industry afloat so they can peddle us more Ford Taurus's or Chevy Monte Carlos that will break down in a few years is not going to work in the long run.

And make no mistake about, I'm quite sure lot's of that bail out money will go towards overinflated salary's for the higher ups, keeping the Gulfstreem G5's flying, 5 star hotels (with hookers included), and cushy pen houses.... The bastards! They got so BIG and FAT they don't want to do whats really necessary to save the company in the most ethical manner.

The way they should be 'bailed out' is by giving them a low interest loan over 10 years during which, we have a lot of power over the companies.

Then the first thing they need to do is to investigate the 'big 3' and throw the managers found not to be squeeky clean in prison very publically.

Secondly we need to replace these managers with highend professional engineers and manufacturing specialists.

After that they need to modernise and direct their effort into water powered engines.

Since the people now own the big three, they should be used to create magnetic motors cheaply for each house.

Another thing they should focus on is economical tractors for third world countries that run on water. That would feed the world a very healthy organic diet.

But obviously, they aren't going to allow this.

Hydrogen cars in the shape of the Honda Climax are the way forward, with a win-win for all as far as I can see.
