I'm watching Death Note and Gunslinger Girl at the moment and have Bleach and Trigun to look forward to. Cowboy Be-bop is just brilliant.

What are your favourite Animes?

Generally I have a negative view of anime since I find the Japanese mindset to be disconnected from reality. If I were to sum up the Japanese in one sentence, I would say that "they are absolutely no threat to the NWO." They are lost in a world of fasion, technology and socialization. Socializing is the anti-truth in the world of lies that we currently live in.

Trigun is excellent because of Vash's morality with his gun. Spirited Away is excellent. I didn't like Ghost in the Shell because it teaches people to believe that thinking is conciousness. (I think therefore I am) However, it was really well done.

You're not wrong there but thats part of what makes anime/manga so interesting both from artistic and cultural view points. I find some of the scripts and storyboards are more original than Hollywood films.

Spirited Away is a 10 as is Howls Moving Castle. Miyazaki always delivers the goods.

Trigun is next on my list to watch :)

anime can get a bit much, my girlfriend is an anime fanatic, she'll watch anything, but vampire hunter D is quite cool, cowboy bepop is great, the music makes the show imo, another really convaluted, but very good show is Lain and i just finished watching trigun, also great.
spirited away is one of my favourite movies, howl's moving castle was also cool, but i like sprited away more.

I don't think I've ever watched an Anime movie. I find the art fascinating, but I don't think I've ever watched one. :o

I know that whenever there is something Anime on TV, I flip right past it. I think I have tried to watch it before, but couldn't get into it.

Does this mean I'm a dinosaur?

Loved Akira and Ninja Scroll, both brilliant works of art.......as for the anime series nothing beats the Japanese version of Naruto IMO.

When they converted it to english they changed it heaps and it lost that spark....bastards!

The thing with Anime is that 99% of it is complete rubbish but when you find the good stuff its so sublime and brilliant.

If your new to it you should check out "Spirited Away" which won an oscar, a good place to start.

First of all, I've lived in the country for years, and what you say is both accurate and completely offbase. Stereotyping an entire culture is never a good idea to begin with. Japan's unique world view even among Eastern civilization makes it a stark contrast to much of the Western world, often appearing cold, robotic or even futuristic. In reality, this impression is as much due to technology taking the place of spirituality as it is due to the group or hive mentality present in Eastern cultures.

Secondly, this huge difference is precisely what makes Japanese media and animation so fascinating to the West. It's entertainment coming from a completely and radically different place. Western films and music have a similar following in Japan.

I've been into anime for over a decade, so I could ramble for awhile about things I'm a fan of. How about something "on topic"?

Exactly. Well said.

In fact some of the most charismatic, open minded and fun loving people I have met have been Japanese and don't get me started on how beautiful Japanese women are.
:D.

I agree with you on Spirited Away Avatar, that movie was absolutely brilliant.

My current favorite is Bleach.

Bleach (manga) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I highly reccomend it.

Claymore looks interesting, its on my "should watch" list already. :p

My favorite movie is probly Princess Mononoke, and not the god damn dubbed version with Billy Bob Thorton as a Zen monk, 'cause thats just wrong.
