27,000 jobs to go in the next 3 weeks. I wonder which high street store will next go bust.
I reckon it will be Curry's.

Curry's is highly probable.
The first supermarket chain to go under might cause those vultures who bitched about Woolies having no plasma TVs reduced to reconsider their priorities, slightly.Or start looking at the events less from a perspective of "great, what can I grab?",and spare some time reflecting upon what all this actually means, and where it's heading.
So,which supermarket empire will tumble first?

Wilkinsons, Argos and Poundland for the tat. I suppose you could not buy the CDs from WH Smiths.

actually, I have a feeling the Walkabout chain of pubs will be in the firing line..
as far as shops, Dixons?..same as currys etc...or even Comet..
But the ones I REALLY want to go under are...
MCDONALDS, KFC, BURGER KING AND ALL THE OTHER CRAP, NASTY FAST FOOD JOINTS....
:D

Probably one that sells food only.
I mean Tesco sells everything ,and has huge buying power to compete with other shops that only sell one type of goods. Currys ,for example, or Burtons,
shoe-shops, camera shops etc etc. When Tesco take them on they're all doomed.

The prospect of Tescos being the last man standing so to speak should be enough motivation for anyone to start growing their own organic produce, getting on a good footing with local farmers and bartering for wheat etc.
Do a product ingredient comparison sometime - Tescos Vs ASDA say.
Tescos will bow to Codex Alimentarius and G.M.O without a murmer, and as you so rightly say, with their invincible backing, that's one dark prospect.

i reckon a lot of shops will go bust from here on..too many people buy stuff online.
I just bought a reconditioned pentium CPU for a tenner on ebay...would have cost me loads to buy a new one in a shop.
Don't buy anyone gift vouchers this christmas, esp in the US. Tons of shops are going to fold in Jan, alot are planning it and selling gift vouchers deliberatly. It's not illegal, its standard practice in bankrupty planning.

Yeah, Tesco is a scary mother.
On the "growing your own" thing, I grow my own. Come the collapse , our allotments will be seen as free food for all.

Laughed at that. It must be hellish picking your hanging tomatos.
Judging by the mood down the allotment today, the loons are on about
night patrols to protect our assets.

I have told people for a couple of years now that they intend to close EVERY shop in Britain and EVERY small business. Big business will move into the hands of the "government", and we shall all be working for the state.
That is their plan IMO but we are gonna make everyone aware and foil their evil plans :D

Does anyone think there any industry or business that can survive this?
Bakeries, Food manufacturers, oil companies, breweries, farms, toy shops?

I have first hand experience with the administrators Deloitte. They are liars of the highest order. They will assure staff that they will pe paid and ask them to continue working right until the end and then inform them that there is no money left to pay the wages.
I urge any of you that have friends or relatives working for Woolworths to make them aware of Deloitte's under hand tactics.

Oh jesus yes, we have all seen many a business fuck over a loyal employee,in a bankrupcy the more loyal you are the more you fuck yourself.
Without encouraging or condoning illegal behavior i hae heard tell of a remedey some people use in this situation. I shall share it for information purposes only:
For every hour you work on the promise of full payment for that hour allocate yourself stock, petty cash etc. whatever isn't screwed down, to the value of your work (don't be a dick). Either take it home then and their and bring it back on your last day, or hide it on the premises untill your last day, if you aren't paid before you leave take your stash, chances are you wont get paid. If you do get paid return your stash to the liqidators.
