Keanu Movie Upsets Football Fans

Bayern Munich supporters were furious when an advert for The Day The Earth Stood Still was broadcast on the club's giant TV screens.

It showed the Arena stadium they were sitting in being wiped out by aliens.

The German champions said they knew nothing of the scene until it appeared in the match-day trailer.

"We were not informed and were also not asked for permission," said the club's media director Markus Hoerwick.

"It is not to our benefit for the Arena to be represented in such a way. We will now examine whether and how we react to it."

The film, in which Reeves plays the alien Klaatu who comes to save Earth from itself, has been largely ridiculed by critics.

The Wall Street Journal said the movie, a remake of a 1951 film, was "insufferably full of itself".

But it became a box office hit on its debut weekend in North America, taking $31m in ticket sales in the US and Canada.

It marks Reeves' biggest opening since The Matrix Revolutions in 2003, the third film in the Matrix series.

I dont think it's totally irrelevant, the headline he put is but the story NO.

What is BLUE BEAM and the 2012 London Olympics all about? Is there not some talk of a staged alien invasion at the opening of the games in 2012?

Would that not be ALIENS and a STADIUM?

Watched the movie, I like it.
I like the origonal too, but wow angry over that is something else init.
I mean what would they of done if King Kong had knocked the stadium down, or how about that stupid movie clover field, indipendance day, man there are so many movies that have buildings destroyed in them, the mind boggles.

I would pay to watch them blow up the millenium stadium or o2 arena. what ever its called nowadays.

I agree it was a total waste of time to watch.
Totally wooden acting, virtually no plot and poor special effects.
I noticed the film was made by Fox.
Only consolation was that it was free.
