neither can i... it's a bit of a metaphysical head fuck... what came first, the atom or the observer?

That's not the problem;
the atom, of course.
The problem is:
How can you say what something does unless you observe it???

i was thinking of it along the lines of the act of observing creating the visible universe.
i am choosing not to think about what happens before there is an observer as i have a massive hangover.
