Here is one for all the group in relation to Aleister Crowley
I was brought up not far from Boleskin House in Inverness and when I
was 14 my cousin, who was a sparky(electrician), had to do a job at
Boleskin at the time messers Page and Plant(Led Zepplin) were on the
scene.
On this day I think it was a Thursday I was off school during holiday
time and I went with him.
Nearly 2 miles away from the house I could feel the hair on the back of
my neck rising. It was such an odd, at that time, feeling that really
spooked me. I now know that it was the ghost of Crowley coming about
the place and keeping his mark on it.
Anyway the job duly got finished and we left, still with that feeling
of dread. I know my cousin doesn't feel anything as he said to me a
couple of times there was nothing to worry about.
Now skip forward to 1996/7. Iwas again living back in Scotland and
reading in the paper about how a film crew were due to arrive at
Boleskin House to do a docu on The Beast. I think just shortly after
arriving, one of the crew had a heart attack and died. I still haven't
seen that docu on T V !
Now I am living in England and guess where; Hastings, his other home.
Coincedence or what?
I should also say that if you come to live in Hastings, which has a real bad bad aura around,
and you ever want to leave, then you have to take a piece of Hastings away with you to make sure you don't end up coming back. Due to the fact that Crowleys spirit is STILL around the whole area, same as Boleskin House.

Double coincidence, intresting. I lived in Hastings, on 3 different occasions, coming home back up North, then going back down South to Hastings. I'm now back up Noth. Audio have you any idea what the street name or the house name was wher Crowley died?

I'll get back to this thread soon.

I was told to take some pebbles off the beach. Certain places are very spooky. The castle is a strange place, William of Normandy (Black Nobilty Royal Elite bloodlines) lived there 1066 the Norman invasion. I think Crowley may have been drawn there because of this.

I was shocked to find out that one side of my family name is Norman, found this out years after leaving Hastings. The Village I live in also has Norman bloodlines. Maybe it's a coincidence or a past life incarnation thing.

Audio what have you heard about Crowley and his time in Hastings ???

Morning all
I have just tried to find out the address of Crowley's house in Hastings but there was no info available.
I can find out about Boleskin and he had a place in London, but nothing on Hastings - strange.

www.mysteriouspeople.com/Aleister_Crowley.htm

That is a link to info about Boleskin and a pic of it at the bottom.
Very interesting but I don't think who ever wrote that piece had visited the area, because you don't get the feeling that someone is pressing down on your shoulders and trying to put you in the ground. Which I felt the first time I had been there.
I have also been in touch with someone who is looking for Crowley related material for some sort of exhibition in Dec this year. More details will follow as and when I get them.

Hi Eternal
The info about taking pebbles from the beach is a common one hereabouts. From what I gather it does not work and people still end up coming back, marriages break up and so on.
Funny about the castle, as I can usually feel something around and have not had that experience there. Probably too many people in the way that somehow kept the spirits away. Yes I know that if they really want you they will find you, and get through but on crowded days they would rather stay hidden and not cause fear. Not everyone can see.
Getting back to Crowley, Hastings was an area of major Roman iron workings and it is also on ley line routes. I think there are a couple of junctions where the lines cross not too far from the Ridge near the Conquest Hospital. I know I get bad vibes sometimes when passing there.
Anyway 'tis all for now

Hiya Audiolink,

After hearing this story from you in There (http://www.davidicke.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2813), I'm so glad that you posted it here for the benefit of all. I find it so interesting that you could sense something and yet your cousin could not.

That's how it is, I suppose.

Excellent post. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers for the link audio. Not much left of Hastings castle, just ruins. Anway I climbed over the wall couldn't afford the entrance fee lol. If I remember there was a stone slab (an altar or something) maybe they used to sacrafice or torture the locals on it??? Strange vibes. Apart from that this next bit is weird.

There was a tunnel, just high enough to walk through, it went underground into darkness then came to a smal rounded area a dead end about 50 feet in. The vibes were strange and I could feel a heavy atmosphere... I had tingling sensations all over.

This was over 15 years ago so I don't know if those caves in the Old Town have been blocked off yet(not the hill where the Castle is the other one) They are up above near where the fishing boats are on the beach I think It's called rock a nore which means North Rock. Behind the Lord Nelson Pub.

I had a thing about caves when I was younger, always the explorer. These days it's all about Internet bleedin Explorer.

First time I was in Hastings ended up satying at this BB I woke up with something heavy on top of my chest (old hag syndrome being ridden by a witch) and was fully awake i tried to call my friend who was in an other room but no words came out. Scared me. I know I'm going a bit off track, but you mentioning Hastings is bringing back some memories. I've started some other threads you may find usefull about Crowley.

HEY HEY...AUDIOLINK!!!!!!. So glad you made it here man and sharing your experiences with us all, I'm soooo glad we met up Dude..and I look forward to having a decent read of this thread with you guys.

I think for sure Crowley consorted with the "Bizzarre" a ways tooo deep for him.
I also think he invoked "entities" of the ultapspatial negative type..into this 3D "Timeline" as above 3D there is no concept of it.

He faied to Banish certain ultras I think... and things in this way can get "stuck"
in this Dimension ..

I'll jump back and take a look at ths later.

It's good to see you making friends here allready.. and I'd like to take this opportunity dude to say

A MASSIVE WARM WELCOME TO The David Icke Forum... where ALL possibilities are possible!!

Hi all

Thank you Phoenix1, and all the other members, I feel very much at home on this forum as you know, and can't really wait for things to happen, as they are working so slow. With what I read since I spoke to you last night Phoenix1, it looks like it is gearing up for domination by one of the superpowers, who were both flexing their muscles over the last couple of days.
That being said, and in probably the wrong thread as well, we just have to bide our time and see what transpires.
Now eternal, I think the name rock an ore comes from the old saxon term rock of ore, as every time I used to metal detect, my readings were never true because of the iron ore in the ground. Hence the Romans and their major iron works here about.
I have never visited the caves that you have spoken about, but now I must, as I could probably get something from the experience.
By the way Aleister Crowley never actually cursed Hastings but he did curse Eastbourne. It is just that Hastings seems so far from the other places in the south east, that it never really developed as it should have and could have.
Also I have just spoken to someone who is letting me borrow a copy of Aleister Crowley's bio one of these fine weekends, so I am going to take him up on that. I also gave him the link to this forum and thread and explained why we are here. So look out for another new participant in our midst.
Thank you one and all for the support it is appreciated and welcomed and I will do my best to honour that.

Hastings multi media artist and musician Dave Arnold researches
the iconic occult figure Aleister Crowley and …The Curse Of Hastings…

Aleister Edward Crowley (1875-1947) - The Great Beast 666
Died of asthma and chronic bronchitis in Hastings at Netherwood House on the Ridge on December 1st 1947 where he had resided since 1945. Arguably its most notorious and bizarre resident, Netherwood, since demolished, still belongs to the legacy of …The Wickedest Man in the World… and like its most famous guest - lives on, and is an even bigger enigma with Occultists and the curious locally and across the planet to this day.
So why Hastings?
Many tales and mysteries are bounded about just how come Crowley ended his years in Hastings and what is the curse he was rumoured to have placed on it?
Was it that, as was up until recently, Hastings was a fairly cheap place to live?
Had he visited the town many times before and was drawn by its raw charm?
Had he become a burden in London during The Blitz, being somewhat a liability during the bombing raids with his colourful antics?
Or was the magnetic force of this sacred land, a conflux of powerful ley lines, too strong to ignore?
The various so-called curses seem another fallacy of the negative and confusing misinformation surrounding the man. Why would he curse a place where he eventually found rest from the turbulence of his past days?
Aleister did not go to school until he was eight years old. Before then he was educated at home, by his father and visiting tutors until the year of 1883 when Aleister was sent to the private school, White Rock Boarding School For Young Gentleman also known as Habershon’s Prep School at no. 10, Pevensey Road, St. Leonards on Sea run by a family of strict Evangelicals. He attended the school for two years where he was bullied almost daily.
Perhaps the fact that he had previously attended White Rock School or he had a vengeance against the Hastings Chess Club, whom he was a member of?
Or was the mans sardonic whit and humour again misinterpreted by another in the long line of naive and negative recipients that craved his power and wished to diminish the Crowley reputation further?
Hastings and the adjoining town of St. Leonard’s-On–Sea (home of the O.T.O. Shemesh lodge whom celebrate his magical legacy), have become a shrine to the intrigue and worship of Aleister Crowley and his beliefs and teachings.
Whether your affinity with Crowley is with one or all of his many attributes:
The Occult, The Religion of Thelema (and its Gnostic Mass), Sex Magick, Tarot, Drugs, Poetry, Astrology, Alchemy, Art, Mountaineering, Chess, Yoga, Philosophy, Illumination or just a curiosity of a fascinating and intriguing entity, it is hard to ignore or dismiss, that this man was just the rogue and evil charlatan that many would have you believe.
It’s not obligatory to worship the man and all of his deeds and recreations, but with knowledge and understanding the perception of Crowley continues to perplex and fascinate many diverse followers across a variety of beliefs and generations.
Hastings has attracted a wealth of artists, eccentrics and occultists, (witch- Alex Sanders lived and died here in 1988), to this day, whether for the beautiful location and surroundings, the micro climate, the light, the seashore, the mixed cauldron of past and present cultures-this is a sensitive land!
Hastings has a rich and vibrant history, back to an ancient world – pre Crowley, the 1066 experience - pre Saxon, Celts and Romans…and with this history a legacy of energy, rituals and symbols.
The mysterious, and objectionable, but undeniable force behind the attraction of this area and one that I and others feel must have intrigued Crowley, is this geological force created by the meeting of energy lines and underground water currents that emerge and converge on the town and the sea. This energy and the vortex confusion it creates has manifested itself throughout its past and lives on through the present.
Crowley’s doctrine in The Book Of The Law: “Do What Thou Wilt Shall Be The Whole Of The Law” and his many philosophies have been the core of a cross-section of interested souls creative stimuli since their inception and Crowley’s influence locally has stimulated a variety of experiments and projects, among them local band Turn Blue whom have absorbed Crowley’s, Book Of The Law and released a CD of songs entitled,’ Love Is The Law’, influenced by this work Crowley did also reside in property at Harpsichord House in Hastings Old Town, where tales ascend of Indian costume frolics, the gift of a sphinx to a daughter of one of the visitors to the house, talk of strange deeds and curses are still rumoured.
My good friend, George Hay, the founder of The Science Fiction Foundation and editor of occult book, The Necronomicon, lived in Hastings old town for many years. George was an early acquaintance of L.R. Hubbard the Scientologist whom Crowley knew. Hubbard was a close friend of OTO member Jack Parsons who corresponded with Crowley at Netherwood. A regular visitor to Netherwood was Lady Frieda Harris who created the Thoth Tarot with Crowley and nursed him in his final days.
Crowley was the author of two books while in Hastings, one an anthology of poems entitled ‘Olla: an anthology of sixty years of song’ he self-published and the other a later published work “Magick Without Tears”.
A painting of Aleisters-‘Cuboid’, is featured in the film ‘Fall of the House of Usher which was filmed at Netherwood, Ashburnam Place and catacombs and cellars below a demolished Grange on The Ridge, Hastings.
The films director, George Barnett became intrigued by Crowley saying he was a quiet charming man, knowing nothing of his wicked reputation at the time, Georges son Adrian still resides in Hastings.
On December 1, 1947, at the age of 71, and with his 9-year-old son Ataturk and his mother Patricia ‘Diedre’ MacAlpine by his bed, Aleister Crowley good-spiritedly and quietly celebrated his Greater Feast.
Aleister Crowley was cremated in Brighton cemetery after Hastings Borough Council refused his burial on The Ridge. His ashes were later shipped to the USA and were buried next to a tree in Hampton, New Jersey on the property of Karl Germer (Crowley’s successor to OHO).

Whatever ceremony, the latest local self-appointed king of the witches, or anyone else for that matter, performs to curb the so called Crowley Curse on Hastings, fact is people and public servants today, are and will keep on adding to, the negative rape and assault of this sacred land and to me this is the true curse that lives on now.
The Crowley enigma and spirit will continue to intrigue and fascinate.
To quote the man “…intolerance is evidence of impotence…”
Keep your mind open.
