and a state's rights for it(he will not use the justice department to prosecute medical marijuana-which in essence makes it federally legal for medical use-which means places like california can continue to do what they do without fear of raids)

About time - but that was in 2007. Any idea If he still supports it?

I wouldn't be at all surprised if he's been 'blocked' from taking this any further. Here in the UK, we've heard countless times how our MPs have suddenly 'dropped' certain radical ideas, or 'promises' they would like to implement, (just to get the votes, yeah) as soon as they've come into 'power'.

10 Questions: Medical Marijuana - YouTube

also, last night, national geographic television debuted a special entitled "marijuana nation" ,and the only negative thing about marijuana that the show contained was references to destruction of national parkland/violence by renegade marijuana growers (and how this wouldnt be happening if it was legal).

it went into marijuana 5000 year+ history, how its been a part of human culture, and all the myths and government propoganda which lead to its illegality.

i feel that the show was basically pushing for legalization for @ least medical marijuana

remember though..hes not for total legalization or even decriminalization...

hes for medical marijuana, and a state's right to either prescribe it for medical use,or not to prescribe it(just like any other medically presribed controlled substance).

he will not waste tax payers money on fighting medical marijuana, and not have the justice department prosecute people who use it or provide it.so basically ,anyone can get a prescrip for it (headaches, depression, insomnia, cancer etcetc)..

it also seems that he will not use federal funds to supply it,which means its up to the state to provide their patients with it.

It would alter the playing fields between dealers and goverment i for one think this is a great idea as it allows police to target harder drugs in the war (if there is one) on drugs they should follow the Holland layout i feel that it would be a step in the right direction.

It will be interesting to see if he follows through with this, but I fear his puppet masters will tell him this is not acceptable.

It will be funny if the USA goes more liberal on marijuana, after Broon, probably at the insistence of the Bu$h administration, reversed the downgrade and more liberal policies over here that we thought were here to stay.

I seen the movie industry churning out Marijuana on a regular basis i never understood how the could keep advertising it in such a way it used to really get to me because i was never in the loop i wondered how the hell is this allowed. I still dont get it anyone care to help explain this to me could this be the reason after all lets face it the things said about such a substance is rubbish anyway and alcohol is a much more deadly drug than the most down graded out there.

If Obama is (still) for the medical use of marijuana, that's one thing he has right. I am not fooled by this guy and whereas he might seem to have some things right, mark my words, he is as bad (if not worse) as the rest of them.
