The Great Global Warming Swindle is set to air on television here in Australia in July, this was first aired on channel 4 in Britain and is available here (http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=2332531355859226455&q=The+Great+Global+Warming+Swindle) on Google video and the hit pieces (http://www.theage.com.au/news/opinion/the-truth-is-downright-dirty/2007/06/01/1180205508019.html) have began early.
This in my opinion is damage control as they know this information is out there and they need to counter it by going in hard early, the article in the Age is very emotive and doesn't counter any of the charges made in the doco. People will read opinion pieces like this and dismiss the information offered in the documentary before they even see it, thats if they watch it at all after reading this. Those that do or have watched it and begin to ask questions will be ridiculed as conspiracy theorists and or deniers by others who read rubbish the the article I posted, it is clever programming IMO.
One other thing I have noticed in the papers with regards to programming is the use of pictures of cooling towers like this from coal power stations.

This is very deceiving because the ommisions from a cooling tower is actually steam, although this is still classed as a greenhouse gas it is not Co2 which actually emanates from a different tower at the coal station and is invisible to the eye because it has been filtered to just pure Co2, but the impression you get from photos like this that are constantly used in the press is that the steam is the pollution.
Anyway, if you have not yet seen The Great Global Warming Swindle check it out and pass it on to your friends.
